I submitted a $1300 deposit to this business for a cabinet remodel on Feb 6, 2021. Pat was supposed to order new cabinet doors and refinish my existing cabinets. Almost a year later and I have not received an update, service, or refund. I was informed by a family friend he has now moved to Florida. I would like to receive my deposit back.

Meet with Patrick B. and received proposal to have cabinets refurbished. Supplied deposit and Mr. B. has never done any work and has stopped responding to emails and phone calls. As a small non-profit organization serving seniors this is very upsetting.

We were referred to this business owner (Patrick B.) by a friend. I personally spoke to B. at his shop and negotiated services to paint kitchen cabinets and replace doors in March of 2021. B. showed up to our residence on 4/2/2021 and collected a check written to his business after his estimate. We put 1/3 deposit down. (Check cashed on 4/3/21) B. agreed to have work down within 45 days. B. told us numerous times he would be at residence to conduct the work but failed to show on days he arranged. B. was called / texted to his phone numerous times over the Spring / Summer of 2021 and failed to respond again. When he responded, he (B.) made excuses. Our messages were monthly to him with numerous promises and excuses. (We also found out that he is also dong the same to other consumers). We have requested a refund of $1700.00 or the cabinet doors and hardware associated with the cost of deposit of materials. His business is NOT in good standing via MD SDAT.

Thomas & Sons was hired to do some work on my kitchen in January of 2021. In March of 2021, the business removed my kitchen and laundry room doors, and the backside of my peninsula, in order to paint them at the shop. Since then, the business has ignored phone calls and texts, given excuses as to why the job is not finished, not shown up to scheduled appointments, cancelled on appointments, and has not completed the work. The business has my $3800 deposit, my doors, my door frame, the backside of my peninsula, my vent cover, my electrical outlet cover, and my drawer pull, and refuses to give anything back. I would like my money and my things back, as I am no longer interested in working with this business.

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2021/10/26) */ From: ******* *. <********************@gmail.com> Date: Tue, Oct 26, 2021 at 12:43 PM Subject: Re: We received a complaint # XXXXXXXX on your business To: Lisa L. from BBB <********@greatermd.bbb.org> Thomas & Son Woodwork is returning the property to the owner. The home owner has payed 2/3 of the total amount of the agreed proposal and 2/3 of the scope of work has been completed, Therefor, no money is owned to home owner at this time. Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2021/10/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The cabinet doors were returned yesterday after getting a Private Investigator involved. The company is wrong, 2/3 of the work has not been completed, and what little work that has been completed by the company needs to be redone. The paint job is poor, and has to be resanded and repainted by another company. All of the doors still have to be painted and hung with new hardware, the drawer slides have to be replaced, the back of my peninsula needs to be put back on, everything needs to be resanded and repainted, the trim work needs to be completed, the toe kicks put back on, shoe molding added, my doorframe put back, caulking completed under the cabinets, and all hardware installed. The work that still needs to be completed is a majority of the job, therefore I overpaid and still need my money back, especially since I now have to clean up the mess I was left with.
