In July 2023, I enlisted Wise Construction services to promote a scope of work contingent on an estimate. Wise Construction has not lived up to its' expectation, as they have formed a bias in their efforts to provide me services.in view of their mission statement, "The company provides seamless gutters, gutter guard installation and home remodeling as well as Aging in Place services". The referral was presented by the Department of Aging for their services, being I live outside of Hagerstown, Simply, I needed a bathroom grab bar and some other exterior home repairs addressed (installing the safety guide rail and replacing the deck planks, and gutter cover) that was prevalent to my special loan application base on my income and attached to my mortgage. The representative Ms. ******* listened to my concerns and took pictures but has fail to supply me with an estimate and/or scope of work to submit my special loan application. It is not the norm for me to allow strangers in my home, nonetheless, expose myself to the outside elements as such covid virus but all was an urgency for my safety! I have never heard back for the rep after requesting, she write it up according to the code. I have recently made an attempt to follow up but have been ignored. Essentially, Wise Construction has exhibited poor business practice and discrimination in my efforts to enlist their service. I am truly disappointed with the treatment I received as it has promoted a negative impact on my well-being from a Certified Aging In Place Specialists, specializing in projects for senior citizens.Business response

Ms. ******** called us for an estimate for work to be performed in her home. We were told by Ms. ******** that she had no funds to perform the repairs and was working with the Commission on Aging in Hagerstown to see if she would be approved for the funds to complete the repairs. Ms. ******** told Wise Construction that she was not approved for the funds and had no funds to complete the repairs. Wise Construction is a small business and cannot perform work for free. We were not aware of a "special loan application" of any other sort. Ms. ******* has reached out on several occasions and has not received a return phone call. Dear Wise construction
In view of your reply, I am rejecting this response I am very disappointed in your measures of your business dealings to not have the ability and sensitivity to understand the ethics of assisting seniors in the Washington County Community. In your efforts to address my complaint you choose to formulate a color and/or race barrier, by focusing on poverty issues to shine a light to stereotype me. Shame on you for reporting false accusations in your letter about my finances and asking for a handout. If all you said was true in bringing forth your claims you would have evidence of the transcribed phone records, emails and times you have claimed to have followed up with me tryng to secure business as a potential client. Ironically, eventhough, as you state, knowingly, I had no money to finance my project she proceeded with the walk though for my grab bar, is that all you got? That sounds so ridiculous and purely discriminatory that you would even bring forth this unjust fable. I had two other bids for my projects (Mr. Fix it and Little Brothers) and moreover, I enlisted you as my third wheel, in my efforts to secure and submit my application as discussed with your estimator. *** **** ************ ** *** *** ***** ** *** ****** ** * ******** *** ******* ****** ******** ** *** *** ** ********* ** *** ***** ** **** ** *********
Essentially, this is a prime example of you promoting poor business practices, deceitful tactics and discrimination which highlights your companies' downfalls. It is obvious you dropped the ball with having no ability to substantiate your rebuttal to make up this stuff about me. The commission of Aging referred me, considering you specialize in senior home repairs. Let it be noted they do not supply funds for home repairs, obviously, wise just pulled this notion out of their hat. It just does not make sense as to why I would enlist a service therefore request an estimate for repairs for free, (I currently have no outstanding debts or judgement). The special loan in question will be attached to my equity having afford me a reduce interest rate to complete the work at hand The truth is Ms. ****** was not qualified or license to execute the job as she stated “she was in training”. Not looking for an apology or special treatment just what is fair. Your allegation are simply fictious perhaps it best we relinquish ties in this matter. As your work will reflect poor craftmanship and impede on the safety in my home. I thank the BBB for this mediation as it has brought forth the bias acts, discrimination, unhanded method to utilize selective reasoning into the forefront in this venue. The better fit is for me to move forward in my endeavors for my project!
Respectfully,
******** ********
