Charged me two hours when the guy was here for one. The info that they would do this is on the payments page of their website, which no one would see until after the job. Their billing policies should be up-front, before you agree to service. Even if they charged for just the one hour, it would have cost more than Paul's estimate by email. He had my email, phone number and physical address. I didn't hear from him til a month later, when he calls all angry about late payment, when I never received a bill. He claims I put in my email wrong on the request form, which I don't believe but can't verify because the customer doesn't get a copy. We had emailed before that, so he had the correct address. He also could have mailed me a bill. There's absolutely no excuse for him to be angry with me. The employee who came said he sees the boss maybe once or twice a year.Jett Plumbing Response

The client called originally and I told him we charge by the hour and I would guess the job. Would be under an hour but had no idea until we get there. My plumber was there for one hour and 26 min plus 15 min travel time, which is a 2 hour charge. The online request ge submitted the wrong email address, so when u was emailing the bill he never responded. I called 3 times over a month with no response. I can attach the GPS tracking .for verification.Customer Response

The GPS info he sent me says 1 hour 24 min, not 26 as Mr. **** claims, but that's splitting hairs, I guess... I kept an eye on the clock and the guy was in my house for just under an hour. How long he was in my driveway before or after, I don't know, but apparently that adds up to about 24 minutes. The estimate he gave me was NOT by phone, but by EMAIL. I don't believe for a second I put my email in wrong to his form, but even if it got messed up somehow, we had emailed back and forth earlier, so he absolutely had it. Here's the exact quote, copied and pasted: "That should be much… maybe $200, I don’t see it being much more. You can schedule a request on my website when ready" The job ended up costing nearly double that. When the guy was done, he said he also fixed a gurgle in the tub, which I hadn't asked him to do, and had never heard. How long that part took I don't know. Why should I pay for that? It would be fine if he was billing by the job and did something extra to be nice, but when I'm getting charged by the hour, don't do anything I didn't ask for. Next time I will look for an independent plumber where the guy or gal who comes to do the work is the person the business is named for.Review from Timothy M

I recently had the pleasure of working with Jett Plumbing, and I couldn't be more impressed with the service I received. From start to finish, Jett Plumbing exemplified professionalism and expertise. Firstly, he arrived promptly at the scheduled time, which is a rarity these days and immediately set a positive tone for the entire experience. He quickly identified the issue and provided a clear and accurate explanation of the problem. His knowledge and attention to detail gave me complete confidence in his abilities, and I felt reassured that the job would be done right. The price he quoted was more than fair, especially considering the high quality of work he delivered. I can't recommend Jett Plumbing highly enough. If you're in need of plumbing services, look no further. Jett's exceptional professionalism, reliability, and fair pricing make him a standout in his field. I will definitely be referring my friends and family to Jett Plumbing for their plumbing needs. Thank you, Jett, for a job well done!Review from Charles H

Charged me for services. Didn’t fix my issue and only provided me with a referral to a different company. I tried to call as I wasn’t home when the service was attempted. No answer. They had no issue getting an invoice to me. But when I tired to get clarity, crickets. The owner doesn’t have a ****** account. The only way to leave reviews are on ********. I went to leave a review since I was being ghosted. After posting my review, the owner deleted it and blocked me. Then they were able to contact me back only to call me childish and how he had to drive so far. They advertise in my neighborhood! They are local!Jett Plumbing Response

Absolutely not true, and I will attach the text. We spent 90 mins trying to snake a drain and couple not clear it. All piping behind finished walls. Before opening walls we recommend using my Drain cleaning company who has better equipment before opening walls. We obviously have to charge for out time at the job. Here is my message to the owner: Sorry I missed your call, I actually have no voice and can only text. Doctor appointment tomorrow. It’s classless to post on social media, and you clearly don’t understand the trade. First off, it did NOT take 3 days to get an appointment, you SPECIFICALLY asked for that exact date, which I accommodated. We always charge for our time regardless. You don’t think we want to walk in, snake it, clear it and walk out in 30 min? We work way harder on those kind then the in and out jobs. And my referral to ********, they are NOT plumbers… they are draincleaners and that’s all they do. You clearly have a bigger issue and there was nothing else we could do with all the finished walls besides cutting them open. It’s worth trying ******** as they are draincleaners so have much better drain equipment. So I’m sorry it wasn’t fixed, however, it’s really sad that your generation runs to social media like a child.Review from Rick R

I hired Jett Plumbing to install some bathroom fixtures to complete a recent bathroom remodel as our previous plumber was tied up on a large job and could not come back for weeks to finish final fit out. I spoke to Paul J. (owner) on the phone and HE quoted me a price for labor + materials for HIM to come out and perform the work as described and I agreed. On the day of the job, my doorbell rings and there is a young man on my porch with a Jett Plumbing van in my driveway. To my surprise it was not Paul J. but rather his 19-yr old assistant. He was a nice enough young man. The problem was he was NOT a licensed Master Plumber who I thought I had hired. He was NOT even a Journeyman Plumber with the required 4+ years experience under a Master Plumber. No, he was a plumbers "APPRENTICE". All that is required to be a plumbers apprentice is to pay $15 application fee and to train under the control and "DIRECT SUPERVISION" of a master plumber at all times. THIS IS THE LAW! So after 4 hours at my house and numerous phone/FaceTime calls to Paul J. with questions on how to install my fixtures and a 45 minute run to the supply house, I was left with an incomplete job, a damaged $200 faucet and an invoice for $600 labor ($150/hr x 4) plus $120 in supplies that in reality cost less than $30 at *********** After disputing the charges with Paul J. for sending an apprentice to my house and charging TWICE the amount of time to complete the job (i.e. phone calls, supply run, FaceTime) and for having to PAY another Master Plumber to come out and complete the job that I had hired him for, I refused to pay his invoice. He never once offered to come out and complete the job himself but offered "a courtesy discount for one hour of labor" - not even enough to cover the damaged faucet . Jett Plumbing and Paul J. are making a lot of $$ skirting the law sending out an unqualified, unsupervised apprentice at $150/hour. Complaints have been filed with state of MD by me and others.Jett Plumbing Response

This is absolutely untrue. I never told the client I would be there personally, the job was completed in the proper manner and there was absolutely no damage to anything or faucet. I sued **** ****** in the court of law and I won. In court, he never brought up any damage. His invoice is still unpaid and I'm in the process of attaching a construction Lien against his home. His entire argument is that it shouldn't have taken 4 hours, but his faucets were extremely intricate, or it would have been a 2-3 hour job.
I tried to credit one hours but he declined. So I was forced to take him to court, and the judge sided with me and I won my judgment.Customer Response

Paul **** is not telling the truth here - which is not surprising. First, I have documentation (text's from Mr. **** entered as evidence in court) stating he was coming to my house to complete job he agreed to on phone - not his 19-yr old apprentice! Second, Mr. **** did file a claim in Small Claims court for $1,260.61 in which I did bring up the damaged faucet to the judge. Third, Mr. **** admitted in court to sending an apprentice out on a job alone and without direct supervision which is a serious violation MD law. He is currently under investigation by both Harford County Licensing and Permits and the State of MD Professional Licensing for this offense and for performing plumbing work without a permit. Finally, the judge awarded Mr. **** $450 plus $34 in court costs which is 1/3 of his bogus invoice with interest charges and collection fees that the judge admonished him for charging without a written contract. I mailed a check for the full amount of $484.00 which Mr. **** has not cashed up to this point. Mr. **** is facing fines from the county and state that could cost him up to $5,000 in fines and/or suspension or revocation of his Master Plumbers license.Review from Chris S

We hired Jett Plumbing to install a tankless water heater in a home we purchased. During the installation, I asked the installer if the work would be performed to Maryland Code. He replied that if I wanted this done to code, he would have to make some changes, rent equipment, and change how he was installing the unit. He came back a while later with a hammer drill and reconfigured some of his original work so that the work would be up to code. We later found out that Jett Plumbing did not pull the required permits necessary to do contracted plumbing work in Maryland. When I asked the owner about this he said it's more trouble than it's worth but he would pull a permit. The permit was submitted by Jett (at no charge) and the inspector failed the installation because it was not installed to code even after we were told it would be. The inspector said the way it was installed could have caused poisonous fumes to push back into our home. Jett came back that day to fix the required issue. After this issue, we discovered that the tankless water heater pushed our home's BTU usage far over the meter's recommended threshold. I'm not a plumber so I asked Paul J. about this and why this was never mentioned when we discussed using a water tank (40k btu) vs a tankless (200k btu) and he said that was his fault for not having that conversation before we spent the money to have the tankless installed in our home. To fix THIS issue, we started the process to have our meter upgraded. I was unable to get the correct information on what needed to be submitted for this process and asked Paul J. if he knew. He said he knew the head inspector personally and could call him to find out what we needed. A day later Paul sent me an invoice for $150 to have a permit pulled and onsite inspection. I immediately paid the bill and asked for clarification because I was told no onsite inspection was scheduled or required. I asked for a partial or full refund due to the fact Baltimore County permiJett Plumbing Response

This is not true and absolutely laughable how someone can come on here and state these facts. When I quoted the job, I talked in GREAT detail about the permit situation and how it affected BGE future issues. They decided at time of install to pass on the permit. And the work scope is untrue, we installed it to code, and the only modification made was a very slight change for the exterior exhaust that literally took 5 min. After the former client had quotes to rreplace a boiler by another company when we were completely finished, the company gave him permit issues so he decided he wanted the tankless permit after all. I pulled the permit, made a slight change to exhaust and all was good. He then begun the meter upgrade required by BGE, that required a separate permit that BGE required for an air test. I told him. $150 to pull the permit, he agreed, paid and we passed inspection for the BGE air test. Everything was great to that point. Him and his wife were extremely difficult through the process, telling me they have had problems with every contractor they have ever used. Why lick told me it was them who was the problem. They reached out to me a few weeks later and I politely told them I was interested. This was months ago then I see this review today.
