      2nd complaint I’ve filed against topper. David W**** came out and said they would resolve the issues we had with the house. They redid a large portion of the issues. They did however leave our back gutter out of wack. It currently leaks from the middle of it because they set the pitch on it incorrectly. Also, there’s obvious damage to the facia they had the gutter attached to due to it overloading with water because our gutter guards had gone missing after the initial install. David refused to repair it on their dime stating that there was no proof that it wasn’t like that before their install. He did however promise to re-pitch the gutter so it would drain properly. That was a couple months ago, and he refuses to message me back about it. We are extremely frustrated with Topper as these issues have been going on for over a year. We don’t want to hire a lawyer. We just want our house fixed. We are sick of the runaround.

      This complaint has been addressed. The picture submitted is old. The contract wasn't with Topper Construction but Lowes. In an effort to accommodate the homeowner we have gone above and beyond the original scope of work (roof only), the fascia corner was caulked and the rear gutter was adjusted on 9/22/23

      Topper Construction installed our roof on our new build in late 2019. last night we noticed water stains on our ceiling( pictures posted) I had my husband go up through our crawl space and see what exactly was leaking. When he got up there saw extensive damage caused by a roof leak. There was mold all over. I called********* and topper construction MULTIPLE times throughout the day left numerous voicemails and got nothing back. The receptionist at one point said to me around 430pm that she was going to directly take my information back to the supervisor and I should expect a call back within 10 minutes and still five hours later NOTHING back. Of course when we bought our house we got a "ten year" warranty but it doesn't cover anything anymore. We had a local roofer who was amazing and offered to come out today to check it out and he got up on the roof and said that not only did they use the cheapest materials out there but they just slapped it on. They put a broken shingle on and instead of replacing it they just used caulking to hold it down and where the leak is coming from they used two rusted nails which is what caused the leak. The roofer stated that this has been going on for a long time and that there was no way the nails could have rusted that bad in the not even three years we've lived here.

      Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/13) */ After Mrs. ******* showed up at our office I was able to talk to her about her attempts to get ahold of someone. We did not have any voice mails in our service department mail box. But these call could have gone to someone else voicemail. I did talk to her and set up a service for the next morning to take care of her issues. My guy was able to find the leak and take care of it. Part of the issue was some maintenance caulking that could have been checked .The other part of the issue was a double nail in the ridge vent. We did a roof check and took care of the maintenance that needed to be done. As for the shingle type and style we do not get to pick them. They builder picks them and we only install what the builder buys. Topper Construction will also be sending a inside service man to fix the issues caused by the leak. Before leaving the house we talk to Mr. ******* and his father in law and all are happy with the work that has been performed. After I went there he did sit and talk with me and I voiced my concerns Dave was very professional. Although the receptionist insisted that I did not call Dave listed to what I had to say and I showed him the phone numbers that I called. Chris the service man did come out the next day and looked everything over and they did agree to come back and fix the roof and the inside damage caused by the leak. He is suppose to be contacting us soon to come by next week and make the fixes. Chris was very professional and he understood our frustrations. As long as they come back and fix the problem than I will be satisfied.
