Dear Sir/Madam,I am writing this official complaint against Westwood Place Apartments to dispute additional charges that were filed after our lease had been ended. It was written in our lease that we are to WRITE A LETTER to inform the leasing office if we were leaving or renewing our lease. As we are human and this was our first time renting we failed to write the letter 60 days before our lease had ended. However, it also states in our lease either the landlord or the tenant must advise if the lease is to be renewed or not. The landlord Chante failed to provide any reminder or inquiry as to if we were staying or leaving. After several communications with her prior to our 60 days of our lease ending there was no mention of the letter needing to be written or any inquiry as if we would be renewing our lease or not. This resulted in additional charges for September and October for $1660. Both tenants myself and another individual had already found other residency and did not plan to or have funds to pay an additional 2 months of rent of somewhere we did not reside and someone else is probably now living. We ask for the charges to be discarded as we also dealt with things like mold, broken toilets, elevators broken and held together with duct tape, **** in the stairwells, charges for parking passes that were originally free.
