We had a horrible experience selling our Boston Whaler Montauk through Chesapeake Whalertowne and would never do business with them again! They never posted our boat on their website/previously owned inventory, despite numerous calls inquiring why our boat was not listed. After almost two months of having our boat at Chesapeake Whalertowne, they called and said they had a buyer and oh by the way, they had to do $2,000 worth of repairs to our boat, which they had not told us about before that day. So in addition to earning 10% for selling the boat, they informed my husband that they were going to charge us an additional $2,000 in supposed repairs to be able to sell the boat, which was ridiculous as we had already paid another boat repair shop $1,300 to repair our boat and get it ready for sale a few weeks before we brought it to Chesapeake Whalertowne. They never provided us any email or paperwork to show what repairs they supposedly had to do on our boat which is extremely unprofessional and sneaky. We still have no idea what repairs they charged us for. When I tried to discuss the issue with the owner to explain we weren't told that they had planned to do $2,000 worth of repairs, the owner Rick Sr., was rude and condescending to me. I would not recommend using Chesapeake Whalertowne to sell your used boat. We had a terrible experience dealing with them!
