On January 22 we put a deposit of $1000 on a new ********* Pontoon boat from Galahad Marine Sales in Grasonville, MD. On January 31 we went to Galahad Marine in Grasonville and paid $53,942.50 by check in full. Included in that price was $1850 for 2 biminis. We got possession of the boat on April 15. It was trailored by Galahad Marine to Dundee Creek Marina where my husband met a Captain who familiarized my husband with the boat, etc. They drove it to our house and docked it on our lift. That evening my husband and I tried to put the cover on the boat. It would not fit. We called Galahad the next day to tell them the cover didn't fit and the salesman apologized because he didn't think about the cover not fitting with the second bimini addition. We feel it was not fair to us when purchasing the second bimini that the cover would no longer fit and would require us to replace or have the cover it came with modified by an upholstery place. We also were not told about the second bimini's support pole being located on the door making it unusable when the bimini was up. We would not have purchased the second bimini if we had known this. Also, when we inspected the boat that day, we discovered a very small hole in a cushion. The salesman said he knew about it and it was "in the works". Two weeks later after much rain and wind and the boat not having a cover, we suggested to the salesman to remove the second bimini and move the other bimini back to its original position. Then the cover would fit. We were informed by the service department it would take four weeks to get that done and the bimini was not refundable. We could not have the boat uncovered another four weeks so we removed the second bimini (May 1) and moved the original bimini back to the original place. Then the cover fit. Galahad Marine has offered us a $1250 refund and they want the bimini. Shipping paid by us $200. The cushion has not been repaired or replaced yet.
