My issue is with the way our rental application has been handled by Tracy B********* and co-worker Bonnie. We applied for a townhouse at ********* under WashCo Management. Our application was accepted, on a conditional double security deposit payment based on my boyfriend's credit score. Over a phone call, Tracy gave us a 24 hour window to decide to make that payment. This was yesterday around 4pm. I confirmed after discussing with my boyfriend that we would make the payment, and replied by email at 8pm. This morning she replied to my email at 6am confirming the townhouse we were interested in. However, I checked the website to pay security deposit, and our application had been canceled. Tracy was out of office today with a family emergency and Bonnie leased out the townhouse to someone else, though we were first to apply, be accepted, and were given time to decide. I am frustrated as we had a verbal contract and I had confirmed that we would proceed with the double deposit. It is unfair and not the proper way business should be conducted. We would like to rent the townhouse that we were offered and accepted within the 24 hour window or receive a refund of our $50 application based on being deceived and now having to spend more time and energy to find a new rental.
