I took my personal and business taxes To KS accounting in March 2022. I was told that an extension had been filed on my behalf until 10/17/22. I had talked with Katie S**** in August to find out the status of my filings. She advised me that she was reviewing them and the computer deleted all my numbers and she would have to re-enter everything and would call me back. In September I hadn’t heard from her so I called again, I was told she was working from home and they would give her the message to call me back. I never got a call back. I continued to call every week and am still calling daily, to no avail. I went to the business building last week and met an employee. She advised me she was the last employee working for Ms. S**** and assured me she had given me all my messages. I need to file my personal taxes and business taxes for 2021, and now I will be faced with additional penalties for late filings. I contacted the Comptroller for the State of Maryland and they do not show a request for an extension beyond April 17, 2022. This woman has put me in a very serious situation and I need my receipts and all my documents back so I can promptly file and request consideration for a waiver on all penalties for me personally and my business.Initial Complaint

The company reportedly filed my 2020 income tax return on my behalf, and was paid. This was back in April or 2021. I was suppose to receive a refund and it never came so I have been calling the company for over a year to find out what was going on; they blamed it on a slow IRS. I took their word for it. I provided them my tax information for tax year 2021 in February of 2022. I was informed in March that they were working on the taxes. As I called multiple times each month I was told that it was sitting on the accountants desk for review, again in March. During a call from me early June of 2022, I was told by one of the employees that they had both files onb their desk, both 2020 and 2021. That's when I learned that the IRS has sent it back to the accountant for some error that the agency would not share with me. Mid June 2022, I called the accounting agency and told them to sen me back my information I provided for the 2021 tax year as I was going to take it to another accountant in Colorado. I also wanted to know what was going on with my 2020 taxes. I have been repeatedly told by the staff that they would pass my needs onto the accountant and that she would call me back. I haven't heard back from her in over a year. I call almost daily and leave messages on their automated machine as no one even answers my calls anymore. The simple resolution would be for them to provide me with evidence that they submitted the 2020 taxes and provide me the documentation. I cannot do my 2021 taxes without it. I also need them to return my information submitted for 2021 taxes. As they will not return my calls nor answer my calls I must conclude that they are engaged in something illegal. As I submit this complaint, I am also contacting a lawyer to determine what legal actions I can take. I do not wish to have to involve a lawyer but I also do not wish to be at odds with the IRS for not filing tax returns.
