If I could give a ZERO star rating for Red Sky Travel Insurance, I would! Our Outer Banks vacation home CAUGHT ON FIRE people!! We were awakened at 3am by my niece running around that house pounding on everyone's door and yelling at the house was on fire and we needed to get out now! It was an electrical fire that broke out in the attic above my sister's bedroom suite. She was drifting in and out of sleep, but she kept hearing crackling and smelling smoke. My niece was restless, and happened to be awake (thank God). Once they figured out what was going on, it was a flurry of activity getting everyone out. One of our family members is a quadriplegic, and this was his first vacation in 15 years. This experience was terrifying for all of us!! The fire chief told us...just a few more minutes, and the entire first floor would've been engulfed in flames. We made it out just in time!! Not only did we lose some things to water and smoke damage, we were all traumatized :'( 17 of us...our entire family... it could've wiped us out completely! We claimed $8,856 for our trip. After more than 30 days of waiting (and sending them a ridiculous amount of receipts for everything they asked us for), they just let us know they're going to pay $1,174....**** I'm floored.

RedSky is a rip-off. Had I known, I would have searched for another company. At my age, I always buy travel insurance. I will be looking more closely at the policies and only purchasing those who offer cancellations for any reason. I live in GA. I was to meet my brothers from Texas. Because they live out in the boonies in Texas, there were bad rains, and the roads were flooded in and around their properties, they canceled. We canceled the trip thinking I could get a refund. I can't go into detail here about RedSky's demands. They basically called me a liar. Just know I am losing all the vacation rental money which was quite substantial to us. They don't even merit a tenth of a star rating but I had to put something!!! **** **** ********** 

We have always bought travel insurance. In 40 years have never had to use it. This year is different. We reserved a beach house in March for the last week of August 2023.. My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer 6/29/2023. Our life was turned upside down, and became quite busy with medical appointments. I submitted medical records specific to his diagnosis. They now are requiring a form filled out that would allow them to request medical records. I responded: The form you provided requires a signature to release medical records. NOWHERE, on your entire site, could I find a statement that your company complies with HIPAA laws. I am not requesting medical claims to be covered I am only requesting coverage for the prepaid vacation beach house, that I paid a travel insurance company for, to be covered.

I spoke with two Red Sky representatives separately, who assured me my claim would be approved, and provided the required documents (a doctor’s evaluation and bank statements). I was denied a refund for the lift ticket I had purchased from ****** **** resort. It is unethical that they should sell this company’s insurance to people buying their products when clearly Red Sky has a reputation for failing and fraudulent business practices.

My family and I booked a week at Rosemary Beach in Florida for mid May of this year. My mom was diagnosed with ********** *****r last September. She bought travel insurance through the company the Rosemary Beach cottage company suggested (Red Sky). After months of grueling chemotherapy, radiation, and hospitalizations, her surgeon finally cleared her for surgery to remove the tumor. However he was only able to schedule it the week before our beach trip. My mom rebooked for the first week of June. Instead of working with the rental company and our family to apply the deposit to another week, my mom lost her $4000 deposit completely. If either company had an ounce of humanity and empathy they would have worked with us to apply the deposit to a few weeks later. We are extremely disappointed and will go elsewhere to purchase travel insurance in the future.

Rip off! This company needs an investigations by insurance oversight! Predatory practices by targeting older travelers. We had to cancel our reservations due to a medical emergency a week prior to the date. They refuse to pay. Buyer beware!

Booked a beach house and had to cancel reservations a year in advanced and was denied a refund on the deposit. I provided them with ample documentation of why the trip needed to be cancelled and because it didn’t fit their ridiculous requirements for a refund I was denied. This company is a scam. Save your money because this is an added cost without any value.

bought red sky insurance and canceled trip 6 months in advance. Vacasa recommended I file claim with Red Sky to cover 500$ worth of booking fees. They refuse to cover. Now I am in appeals. Do not buy!!!!

Wish I would have read all these horrible reviews before I wasted my money Had to cancel a trip to the mountains during COVID We provided all the documentation they asked for And they still denied the claim We couldn't even get our cleaning fee back... we were never there...there was no need for a cleaner!

Scam artisits!!!!! I purchased insurance for a cabin rental and had to cancel over a month in advance due to a stage 4 cancer diagnosis that required immediate treatment and the inability to travel far from my medical team. I submitted everything under the sun they requested and Im still waiting....no call back....no email responses....completely ghosted! Supposedly, the adjuster working my claim is SAMANTHA yet is never in office or returns calls.....***???? I doubt she even exists! Do not book ANY rental company that uses this company!
