On 7/30/2022, I purchased a 2011 Hyundai Elantra for $8,302.89, $9600.00 after taxes and fees. The promise from the dealer was that this a good reliable car with no issues. Otherwise, I would have never purchased this vehicle for my child who has worked hard to get stellar grades her entire life. The day we were able to drive the car off of the lot we checked for recalls on the car which it had a few outstanding recalls. During this time, I took the car to Hyundai to fix the recalls. At that time the dealer does a complimentary multipoint inspection. Hyundai then told me that my engine is SHOT!! And the cost to repair the care is 7k. I literally had not had the car for a month. I literally had not made my first car payment and I had to shell out 5k. They did provide me with a 90-day warranty that paid 2k of the 7k, but I should not have to put out 5k for a car that I owned for less than a month. When I called the dealer the only thing, I was told by Chris ***** was make sure you pay your car payment. Because you do not want a repossession on your credit and to try using the warranty which does not really cover a THING!!! They have you sign a MVA waiver making them completely not responsible for any car issues that is mixed up in all the paperwork they give you to sign. I feel like they knew about the engine being bad because ironically "I was the first person who they gave the 90 day warranty " My only resolution would be a refund for the cost of the repair. I will upload proof of receipt once I pick my car up.
