The date of the transaction was 3/8/2023 for a used vehicle (2014 ********** ***** **********) at a cost of slightly over $12,000 from Cherner Brothers Auto Center in Kensington, MD. I purchased this vehicle after having a second child and needing more room, and not only having a larger vehicle but one that has high marks for collision and safety according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The dealer declined to replace a set of rear tires that have flat surfaces due to the vehicle not having been driven and parked for some time which affects the drivability of the vehicle. The uneven tire surfaces cause the rear end of the vehicle to bounce and shake during highway speeds and cause premature wear on the rear suspension which would be even more of an expense. I contacted the Maryland State Police Automotive Safety Enforcement Division and their Vehicle Safety Inspector *************** said the regrooving or cutting of tire threads is not permitted. ******, the owner of this business has only agreed to pay to have ****** Tires in Silver Spring, MD to regroove and cut the tire threads. I have asked ****** that they replace the tires for safety reasons and at their cost and they have declined. I am asking that Cherner Brothers Auto Center do the right thing and consider the safety of my family which ****** has neglected to accept my request for the replacement of the rear tires at their cost. Your assistance is greatly appreciated in coming to a resolution for my complaint. Thank you very much for your help.

I purchased a vehicle and the outcome is not very good. The 2014 Chevy broke down in less than 5 months and I am in debt for more than $20,000. I would not recommend this place for purchasing a vehicle. I purchased a Chevy, Silverado 1500 pickup truck it had a check engine light but the dealership assured me that there was nothing to be alarmed about and that they would fix it. I was told that it was the catalytic converters that was causing the check engine light and then they fix it. However, the check engine light still continued to display and would come and go. I said to them that the check engine light was still there, they then assured me that all was well. They told me to drive the truck and it will go away and for a few days check engine light was gone. During the time I had the car it spent more time in their shop then at my home. They made several repairs, such as new mufflers, sensors, tune-up and the last thing they did was some new headlights. The truck broke down on March 13, 2024 as I was taking it back to them as it was then cutting off and not going into gear properly truck stopped completely and then started back up. On the way to the dealership Mechanic shop, where we where told told us to go the truck broke down completely and this time would not start back up I paid $40 dollars to have it towed and my insurance company paid the rest of the tow fee. It is 3/13/2024 today I sit on my couch typing this and my truck is with Cherner Brothers in a shop. They suspect that the this time it could be the transmission but they are still investigating the issue. I feel that overall I may have bought a car based on mis-informed information. I still have not seen inspection papers. I am just very confused about this entire situation and really hope that it turns out that I get my truck fixed and in front of my door where it should be.
