I started experiencing back pain mid December 2022. After ordering pain patches and things like that a bell went off in my head that there's a massage spa in the building where I work. I had gotten paid the previous week and decided to give a 30 minute deep tissue massage a try to alleviate the back pain I've been having. I went to Recreate You! Wellness' website and booked a massage for Dec. 20, 2022 during my lunch break. At the time of the appt I went down to the 6th floor and looked for the business. They weren't there so I checked the confirmation email again, which stated they moved to the 1st floor of the same bldg. I went down there and still no one was there. I tried the number advertised for the business, which is a ****** voice number, and had to leave a message. I saw the front desk person who stated "oh she doesn't come in unless you call her." I said really, even when you've booked an appointment? I called the number. No answer so there was nothing left to do but return to my office. I emailed the business and the owner *********************** wrote back apologizing and stated she would personally provide my service and throw in a freebie foot scrub. I wrote back to her and asked to receive service on Dec. 22, 2022. And never heard anything back. Since then I've made many calls, sent many emails and texts and asked for a refund. Not once since the initial contact have I heard anything from the business owner or any other employee of the business. This is awful. It was a personal sacrifice to book this during the holiday season but since I could really benefit from some relief for my back I booked the appointment. This is horrible, no way for a business to behave and a horrible think for any business owner to behave. ***** owned business want our support, yet often times are a let down when you try to support them. This makes people hesitant to throw their efforts behind a black owned business, who may times need the support of their local community. Wow.Customer response
