The young nurses at this hospital located on the 7th floor do not care for patients properly. My brother who is currently there has been in a room with a non functional pulley to assist him. Nurses responding to over an hour knowing he has only one functional hand. To top off the situation being worse they do not assist with change of bedding knowing that he is laying on piss and feces. This is by far the worst hospital. The nurse in his station had the nerve to say she was annoyed and frustrated that is why she has not assist him and kept him on medication to be immobile and non responsive.

This hospital has been my worst experience by far! Despite informing them of my facial numbness upon arrival, I waited an excruciating 7 hours in the emergency room. To make matters worse, I couldn't find a pillow during my two-night stay, and when I asked a nurse, I was informed that pillows were hard to come by in the area. Although some of the staff were incompetent, overall, the customer service was average.

I have been trying to pay a bill online for months. When I signed into the UM Capital Region patient portal, I was unable to pay because my account balance was zero dollars. I was sure I paid with my credit card, but I was unable to find my receipt and couldn't remember which card I had used. When I called to pay over the phone, the representative stated that she could not accept my payment and that I would have to send in a check. I asked her how I would pay if I did not have any checks. Now the $25 was sent to collections, Receivables Outsourcing, LLC. I typed in the ********************** and then the website takes me to ***************************************. In order to pay, the site asks for an "L#" and your date of birth. There was no L# on the notice I received from the collection agency. I tried the Reference # and the Account #. Neither worked. I called the company at the 844 number and explained to the agent. She told me that she cannot explain why the number is not working. She a bit rude. I could pay over the phone. I told her that I did not want to pay over the phone. She told me I could mail the payment. This is just VERY bad customer service for people trying to pay a bill. It is not that hard to have a working website for bill payments.

On Wednesday the 18th my daughter called me and say she pass out. Now when she said that she pass out again, she was at a beauty supply store. The ambulance was called and they took her to University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center. Once I got there I check for a status on my daughter and also register her. Two a half hour go pass I go back to the desk ask for a status. The lady that sit at the desk was very nice she took my daughter her phone. I call my daughter to see what was going on because no one in the ER would give us a update. My daughter was very confuse she ask me who I was and also ask me were she was at. Now I am mad I go to the desk requesting for a update now, because my child sitting back there don't know who I am or were she at. The nurse finally come out and give me some bs on how they have 50 people back there and still not updating me on my child. This nurse was so hood she have tattoo's going up her neck and they way she talk I was like wow. 30 mins later or so they discharge my child she could barely walk she didn't know what was said to her. The last thing my child remembers is her kids. My brother went outside to get her son to show her that they ok she did not know who he was my child wouldn't touch her son. I got on the phone called labor relations, I was piss by this time. I told the lady they discharge my child and she not in the right state of mind. I was told Ms. Brlim and the director of the ER was going to call me. But as of today no one has called. I will never take my kids or anyone else there. People was sitting in the ER way before we got there and still was there at 12am. The care I got for my daughter was the worst, if I would've took her home and she went to sleep, what if she didn't wake up, because of the care/ and service my child received at that hospital. I really couldn't believe it. I work for Washington Hospital Center for over 10 year and I never seen poor treatment at my job like we received at University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center. Now the night doctor was great he called my phone gave me updates on my daughter, told me about her Ct and etc I thank him for that. But that day shift is the worst never again. The nurse with the dreads loudly laughing with other staff like she outside hanging with her friends. It was very sad, me and my family had the worst experience at that hospital. I have to leave a 1 star but they gets none from me. All they did was brought the staff from the old PG hospital and put them in the new hospital. That hospital is so hood.
