This complaint is re Lennys Towing, 7057 Kit Kat Rd. Elkridge, MD 21075: I received a call about 2 am that my young son was in an accident and car was "totaled" which was told to him. Car was not blocking traffic so after calling me (the car owner), my son called our AAA to tow, but police officer forced him/us to use this company (Lennys Towing) police had a contract with. I told Lenny's driver I wanted the car towed to my home/city, and I was ignored by both officer and tow driver except driver said it would cost more if he towed to my home. I should have been given time to think after confirming my son was okay and not pressured as I was and my son not knowing what to do. The car was on the side not blocking traffic at all. The tow driver took my car to his lot (I followed him). I was told we couldn't get son's belongings/lost keys nor tags, would have to pay $$$ first or I could sign over title for alleged "totaled car." Because this all happened right before the holidays, I didn't retrieve the car for 7 days. Though AAA may reimburse $175 for towing, I paid $614 total and want reimbursement due to the fraudulent driver who told me it would cost me more to tow to my home in order to trick me so company he worked for could make more money.
