My son was registered for a driving class through Street Smarts for $499.00. The school does not allow for online payments at time of registration and will not allow payments to be sent in to the class. I received an email from them, the only once since the first day of school stating the payment was due before end of business that day. I contacted the office immediately and ask to make a payment over the phone. When the office staff said there was a 2.5% fee for using a debit card, I told her I would bring a check in first thing in the am and to please note my account to avoid the late fee. I left work and tried to deliver the check that day but they closed at 4 pm. I dropped the check off this am as promised and was told the check was written for the incorrect amount since it was missing the late fee charge. I explained that I had just received the email yesterday afternoon, had spoken to her about me dropping off the check this. I asked again to have the fee waived. She emailed me an hour later to state the fee was being upheld and that I owed the $25.00. This is the second time I've used the business and have had issue. Shame on me. I've contacted my son's school and asked them to consider using another vendor in light of how we have been treated.
