    My family and I rented a condo at the Carousel Unit *** in Ocean City MD from August 31 to September 2, 2023. The owner of the condo is Jim ****** and that is who I dealth with. I brought my own cleaning supplies with me and we cleaned the condo when we got there and again cleaned it completely as was required before we left and expected our $350 security deposit to be returned to us per the contract, However, Mr. ****** refused to return our deposit because he said his “cleaning staff” (never gave us their names) told him the condo was smokey. Mr. ****** sent an undated, unsigned, unprofessional note to me. It is attached. NO ONE in our group smokes. In addition, our children ages 5 and 10. It is illegal so smoke around children. He also said they found an ashtray. I had no idea what he was talking about. I have a picture of the alleged ashtray he sent as proof which has no Metadata, so it has no date. It is a random undated picture of some old stained dirty glass ashtray. I have the picture because I asked for the picture of the supposed ashtray. Unbelievable what he sent us. I also have a picture of us in the condo on the morning of 9/2/2023, (included) which was the day of our departure. The picture clealry shows no smoke in that condo and it was clean. Mr. ****** has some electrical/safety issues in that condo, but that’s his problem. Mr. ****** said our deposit would be donated to charity. You would think he would have used it to deep clean the condo for the next guests to get rid of the alleged smoke issue. That is the purpose of a security deposit. I would not have bothered to clean the condo at all if it was smoky . Why would I? Makes no sense at all. Just walk out. I have another note from Mr. ****** that says usually it is families that lie about smoking! ***Please note: Mr. ****** did not return our secuirty deposit within 45 days and therefore, by law, owes me thrice the original $$350.00 deposit or $1050.

    Well day one was check in and should have known then to turn and run. As I was checking in there was a police chase thru the hotel lobby ending in suspect being tased in parking lot. Had problems with keycards consistently even avoiding all cc and phones they deactivated. Ice rink was nice. Restaurants were good. Pools were so dirty , play area for kids was nice but very rarely did they have inflatable up. Hotel staff was hit and miss on friendliness. We had issues with neighboring rooms smoking weed and cigarettes that was filling are room with the smell. Made multiple complaints as we have an asthmatic with us and it was causing issues. We decided just to see if we could leave the premises and refused to refund our money because we didn’t complain????? We complained 3 times, security was literally on our balcony looking then the morning complaint an officer came out and told them they can’t smoke and that was it. Told us we had to go thru booking I did and they called hotel and hotel refused refund that WE!!!!! Could of moved rooms. Why would we have to move as paying customers following rules ???? Most activities they advertise are NOT included they nickle and dine you to death there! Absolutely will not be back to this place ever. And will be adding bad reviews to other sites! Also making a call to city that they are allowing smoking in there rooms that advertise it’s not allowed! Hate to be a Karen but when you put my child’s health in danger for negligence call me whatever you want!
