      New roof installed 11-13-2013 on my home with 20 year guarantee by Harview Roofing as per attached contract. Roof is showing significant wear for a 10 year old roof. . I worked with Joseph G******, president of Harview Roofing and filed a claim with *** for defective shingles on 4-20-23. The claim was denied. I notified Mr. G****** when the claim was denied by *** who then suggested that I file a claim against my homeowner's insurance for "storm damage". ******* ********* from **** ************ inspected the roof and determined that the defects are not from storm damage. **** ******* also inspected the roof and agrees with Mr. *********. Both companies stated that the roof defects are from defective *** shingles, a faulty installation or a combination of both. I contacted Mr. G****** with this information and requested that he work with *** to determine a fair resolution since *** denied my claim. Mr. G****** stated that he would contact GAF. I have spoken to my contact at *** and there has been no call from Harview Roofing regarding my claim. I have since attempted to contact Mr. G****** a number of times on his cell phone, via text, and via the company phone and have not received an answer. My contact person at *** is ******** **** and the Claim number is ********.

        Yes, this roof was installed on 11/13/2013 or a little after.  This shingle roof comes with a 10 year labor warranty and the 2 flat roofs that are not part of this complaint is for 20 years.  However I feel that I am trying my best to get this matter solved for Mrs. *****.  From the beginning I sent my employees to remove shingles and take pictures to send to *** to examine.  I called and texted and responded to Mrs. ***** each time.  I have been in contact with **** *****, my rep from *** and we are both trying to come up with a solution.  It takes times.  I have been in the roofing business for over 50 years and I am 100% confident that this is not a faulty installation.  But I have been and will continue to reach out to *** until this matter is resolved.

        The way *** is structured is that ******** **** is in a position to deal with customer complaints and **** ***** is my *** Rep for businesses.  **** ***** number is ************.  I had asked Mrs. ***** to give Mr. ***** a call but to dat Mrs. ***** has not.  I will forward a text showing this.  There are several different causes that can cause shingles to have physical damage such as ice and snow, tree branches, extreme heat.  Also Mrs. ***** state that another roofer was on her roof, and I am assuming looking for work.  It is possible these roofing contractors could have damaged the existing shingles at that time.  To the best of my knowledge this roof is not leaking, and which puzzles me as why other roofers were on the roof.  However, I am willing to try and resolve this issue with Mrs. *****.

      I am rejecting this response because:
      To clarify some things that Mr G****** stated. 
      “Other roofers” were not on the roof “looking for work”.   ** ***** from **** ******* is a family friend and was on the roof as a personal favor.  There had been a windstorm and there were shingles on my property. ** did me a favor and went onto the roof to make sure that the shingles were not from my roof.  That is what started this whole process. ** asked how old my roof was and said he did not think that it was wearing properly. The second company, **** ************, was on the roof at the request of my insurance agent. As you can see the date on Mr G******’s texts I was not given his *** rep’s name and number until after I opened the BBB complaint. I never received these texts and only saw them when I opened his reply to my complaint. 
      Since receiving Mr ****** info I have spoken with him and have an appointment on 8/7. But again I am hesitant to close this complaint as I am not confident that Mr G****** will follow up unless BBB is involved.
