I contracted the business and signed a power of attorney with the IRS to handle back taxes. I paid $2699 for their services. There were several errors that occurred during the process. The final problem being that a revenue officer attempted to contact the power of attorney, as required by law, with regards to a lien filing and the named power of attorney did not return a phone call. This resulted in a lien being filed on my personal property that should not have been. This has financial implications and it was the responsibility of the power of attorney to follow their due diligence and communicate with the IRS on my behalf which they did not do when necessary.

      Business response

      02/23/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/18) */ I have already spoken with the client and provided her call logs, voice-mails, etc., showing all contact to the IRS. Everything she has stated is factually incorrect. Not only did we do everything we were contracted to, we went above and beyond and secured an AMAZING resolution for the client as well as wiping out thousands of dollars in back taxes. We service over a thousand clients a year and it's unfortunate to receive even one complaint, but we stand by our work and are proud of the amazing result we achieved here. I have tried to communicate with the client but unfortunately she has become unreasonable is denying the factual reality of what has occurred even when the proof is in front of her. We wish her the best. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/02/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) While, ultimately (today), I was provided with copies of voicemails that Mr. K****** left with the IRS, initially when I asked for his assistance regarding a letter I received, his email response was "It appears you owe numerous balances under an employee identification number from a business you are associated with. Our contracted services were solely to render a payment plan for personal individual taxes, not for any business issues. This is why you have been contacted by an IRS Revenue Officer. You would need to reach out to them to resolve your business matters ASAP." I responded letting him know that this was NOT a business tax matter as I am not associated with any business. I again requested that he complete the job he was contracted to do. I received no further communication from his until today after emailing him about the new lien that was filed on the same matter (which I had IRS documentation stating that it specially would NOT be filed for the tax year in the lien). I contacted him because I had to do the legwork I actually contracted him to do and that lien that was filed was done because (according to the revenue officer I spoke to) he never returned their phone call. I accused him of negligence in that all the information available to me (which didn't come from him because he didn't bother to respond to me) supported that accusation. His response was " Everything you just stated is factually incorrect. First, the lien was filed over a year ago and we appealed it in order to get you into an affordable payment plan as well as attempt to challenge the 2009 balance which we discussed in depth. Second, I immediately contacted the IRS upon receipt of the notice from the IRS RO. See attached voice mail for the Revenue Officer on 1/10/22, then see attached voice-mail dated January 13th, 2022 first to the IRS Appeals Officer **********, then a voice-mail for the Revenue Officer as well. Then see again a voice mail for the Revenue Officer on 1/14/22. She then returned my call, which I am prohibited from recording, and indicated there was an error and it will be fixed. So everything you have stated about "no contact" is complete ******** and demonstrably false. There was no "tax lien" as a result of any negligence. Best wishes in the future, I hope you don't treat others with the same malice and lies" I further responded, clarifying his incorrect "facts" in that this was a new lien and that calling a client a liar and using a word like "********" is unprofessional to say the least. I have plenty of emails from him blowing me off over the course of our business relationship where he has tried to explain away mistakes, misinformation and lack of contractual follow through. Simple professional communication would have gone a long way.
