I received a bill for $40.00 dated July 11 2023 from this company, for remote monitoring of cardiac device. It has no information, such as who authorized this service, what time period it covers, what type of device, beginning and end of billing period, no insurance authorization, etc. I've never heard of this company, None of my doctors or insurance companies advised me about their service, and if anyone authorized such monotoring service with Rhythm Management Group, it was without my permission. The only name I can find on the form is "********************************* - 05/08/23." I checked online, and there's a Dr.********************************, Cardiologist, in Silver Spring, MD *****, 12 miles from Rhythm Management, but 1,000 miiles from me. I've never heard of this doctor. I discovered I'd received a "welcome letter" dated May 12 2023 stating, "on behalf of your physician at ********* ***************** and per their request, Rhythm Management Group will assist with the on-going management of your cardiac device." I wasn't informed there would be any cost involved. If I'd known there would be costs involved, I never would've authorized it. ********* Cardiology did not inform me of this, nor did my insurance company. In fact, at my last ********* Cardiology appointment, I was told monitoring was taken care of for the next appoinment - a year from now, no mention of any other services. I'm informing ********* Cardiology they acted without my permission, and that if Rhythm Management does cardiac monitoring for them, I refuse their service. I spent the past month in ******, and the ********* Cardiology physician informed me the monotoring system doesn't work outside the US anyway. Canada is where I'll be spending most of my time. Therefore, I am making it plain that I didn't knowlingly subscribe to that service, will not pay any invoices from them, and that they remove all my information from their system. I perceive this to be a violation of the privacy of my medical information.Customer response

I received a letter from this company, Rhythm Management dated August 18 2023, stating they have been authorized to monitor my pacemaker. However, I have not knowlingly authorized them for anything. As I have stated before, I do not want any connection with this company and do not authorize any type of services from them. Also as I have previously stated, I do not want any further communication or contact from them. Any actions by them concerning my pacemaker monitoring is totally unauthorized and against my express written refusal concerning any of their services.
