            We had a problem with squirrels in the attic, and Ataraxia Pest Solutions did NOT resolve the issue. Ataraxia tech said that the noises and problem were mice and we signed a contract for rodent services. However, no evidence of mice was ever found in the attic or anywhere on our property. Eventually, we had to hire a professional squirrel remover company. We paid Ataraxia for their services last year and canceled the remaining contract for services not needed when the invoice arrived this year on 01-19-23 for $489. Ataraxia refused to accept our cancellation and filed a claim with a collection agency (********** ********* of Virginia) for $596.69. This is consumer entrapment. We're asking to have the all costs and fees rescinded by Ataraxia. The collection agency has given us 30 days to respond to this claim (letter received 03-20-23). Supporting documents are attached. By the way, we had used Ataraxia several years before our cancellation request as satisfied customer. The tech that came to inspect for the possibility mice in the attic and caught us a vulnerable time,. We believed his assessment but it was a misdiagnosis. Also, there is no indication on any of Ataraxia's invoices about a cancellation policy.Any help will be appreciated and thanks!
