On April 7, 2022, I went to retrieve my dog from Life of Riley, Rockville. The following took place between 6:35 and 6:45: - My pet could not be readily located upon my arrival. While staff searched for my pet, the Manager, Betty A****, informed me that my pet was injured by a gate and that it was not serious. - Once my pet was found, I observed she had a gaping hole in the side of her stomach, which was swollen, bleeding, and had a piece of bodily tissue hanging out of it. - The Manager nor the staff gave any explanation as to how, when, or by whom the injury was sustained. Absolutely no information was given whatsoever. In addition, I learned that the manager did not, as protocol states, look at my pet's wound at all. - The manager, lied about how the injury was sustained and the severity. - The injury was a puncture wound resulting from a dog bite, which hooked on to tissue and pulled outward upon release (all supported by the notes of the treating emergency Dr.) - A vet was not called. - My pet was not taken to the vet or emergency vet - I was not called or otherwise notified - An incident report was not made - LOR policy was not followed - LOR resources were not utilized In summary, my pet suffered an injury under Life of Riley, Rockville care. The staff nor the manager on duty did anything to help, assist or treat my pet. Nor did they offer an explanation as to what occurred or when. I was not notified of the incident nor was a veterinary professional. And lastly, I was lied to about how the injury was sustained.
