Lerner R********, would be a decent place to live, but, unfortunately is is not, having been plagued for years now, by an uncaring, incompetent, Property Manager. This place is legitimately a health hazard, for anyone fooled by the heavily photoshopped, and nice looking exterior; it is a nightmare on the inside. I moved here 2, almost three, years ago. At first, it was decent, and, then, after having a chance to look around - since they will rush you around, as the property manager dictates to the other employees - all of the flaws, started coming out. I wasn't aware of the black mold, that was rotting the floorboards underneath my entire kitchen area, until they began to warp, and I had multiple staph infections, and lung infections. I became aware, when I called, on 4 separate occasions, to find out what would cause that, as it got so bad, it was blocking the folding doors to the washer and dryer (those caused a multitude of problems as well, and it is impossible to get anyone to help, as Melissa G******** the property manager at Lerner R********, intentionally redirects maintenance, to cover up the issues that are very well known at this point, in Loudoun County, and even neighboring counties. I lived for over a year, before the black mold, which was something a former maintenance specialist, said had been a complaint, for a long time. The former tenant in my unit before me, had similar, and different issues, some of which were even worse, which was a shock to me when I managed to speak to him. They finally fixed the floor, after one maintenance guy, who I haven't seen since, decided to just get the problem solved, as his phone was being pinged over and over, by the office, as they did not want that issue to be seen, or known about, and, turns out, property manager wanted to keep it under wraps; I hope to this day, he left on his own accord, because since then I have not seen him, and it's well known that Ms. G******** will terminate anyone without a valid reason, or make the work environment so uncomfortable, that they leave to find anything better (anything else would be honestly, and I'm simply a resident). Lerner Corporate, doesn't seem to care, but the local media publications sure do. It's shocking honestly, a company allows this, turns a blind eye to it, even when it is a grave health risk, and should be condemned, as that is not safe to knowingly have someone move into a place with severe mold issues. The worst thing, was not even that, nor the many many visits to urgent cares for staph infections, lung damage which is permanent, caused by the mold. Melissa, Property Manager, lowered the rent during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, for ONLY NEW TENANTS, while keeping it the same for anyone who had lived here already. She invited and promoted a drastic discount on rent, at a time of unprecedented unemployment, to fill her quota for tenants; that is more than anything, a horrific health risk, as there was no vaccine in sight at the time, and masks were only required for staff, as the office was closed down entirely. I truly hope someone from Lerner Enterprises/Lerner Corporate in Rockville, MD, sees this, and does something about it. There is one sole problem here, and I wish I'd known before I moved here myself; the property manager is, not doing her job at all, unless that job is to make everyone here both feel unsafe, and be at risk for serious health issues. Having concrete stairwells that were crumbling, exposed rebar, and, it took hundreds of different people reporting it, and how large chunks were falling on the ground below, where children walk, and, making it treacherous to go up the stairs at all. That was ignored entirely, as, Melissa G******* is in charge, to cover things up, not address and fix the issues. She is putting the Lerner Enterprises name at risk, and, local journalists, who have approached me for an opinion, as I am in an adjacent field, informed me that most residents are worried to even comment due to vicious reprisals, ranging from targeted towing of vehicles, to eviction without cause, simply for saying anything. It is a place that will harm your health, put those with families in tremendous danger, and, you live in fear of someone whose job is to manage the property; Melissa G******* at Lerner R******** needs to be fired, and I, for one, will no longer live in fear of her reprisals. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, UNTIL LERNER CORPORATE ADDRESSES THAT ISSUE. It is an understatement to use the term "unacceptable" in this case. Downright atrocious neglect, for a very steep monthly cost for rent, is what you will get if you move to Lerner R********, and hopefully they will address this issue, before it becomes a subject of national media attention. To think one of the largest developers in the DC Metropolitan area, would allow this, is nothing but repugnant, and, more than anything, wrong.
