I contracted SRO2 Handyman Services LLC (SRO2) on 11/5/2020 for renovation work in Ocean City, MD. SRO2 did a walk through and we set start date, scope, and price ($1775). Then the start date changed and SRO2 was confused about the scope. SRO2 apologized about having too many other projects going on so we agreed to a new price due to the date shifting and hallway painting ($2100). Over the next 2 weeks, I would repeatedly remind them about work to do and SRO2 was apparently considering it a "change" each time. On 11/20/2020, I got a final bill ($3898) despite some work remaining. She threatened legal action and I wanted this over so we agreed to a final payment of $1300 on 11/21/2020 which I paid to bring the total up to $3050. On 9/14/2021, SRO2 messaged that if I didn't pay an additional $1073, they would report me to the credit bureaus on 10/1/2021. SRO2 is wrong and I have detailed the communications (including texts, photos, invoices) in the attachments so please refer to those.

      Business response

      02/14/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2021/10/25) */ ***Document Attached*** ***** ****** agreed to all the change orders and in the end refused to pay work work he ordered by text, verbally onsite to Sandy W. or SRO2 Handyman Services technicians on site. Mr. has avoided is financial responsibility for 11 months now that we have told him it is going to collections and will posted on his credit report. Mr. ****** only concern is is keeping his job and not honoring his financial agreement. It is not of our concern where Mr. ****** works or for who. Our only concern is that he pays his outstanding bill. If he just honor his personal agreement by close of business October 29. the file will not be sent to the collection agency. Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2021/11/05) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Ms. W. and SRO2 Handyman Services, LLC (SRO2) continue to assert that my only concern is to keep my job but that is completely irrelevant. If that was truly my only concern, I would just pay the money they incorrectly claim I owe. I do have excellent credit (over 800) and while SRO2 fraudulently reporting this may affect my scores, it is more important to me that I do not fall victim to this predatory business that many others have fallen victim to per public complaints on BBB and Google reviews. Regarding the actual complaint made to the BBB, SRO2 did nothing in their response but attach their erroneous invoice which they keep sending to me. It is clear they did not review the evidence and communications I spent several hours to carefully document and attach to the complaint. Specifically, SRO2's response did nothing to address the work not completed per the scope they quoted in their very own communication to me on Thursday, September 16, 2021. All the communications are already attached to the original complaint, but I will attach it again in the hopes that SRO2 will read it this time and stop harassing me. Business Response /* (4000, 15, 2021/11/09) */ Mr. ****** request his entire condo 2/bedroom 2 bath, kitchen dining and living area, plus patio was completely subcontractors scraped and painted from ceiling to floor to each closet. Workers changed out electrical, outlets fixtures, vanities, hauled away old furniture and remove all trash to dumpsters. All at Mr. ****** request, Mr. ****** is negating his responsibilities to deny the existence or truth of his own reactions. He clear asked SRO2 to stop contacting him because he would affect his job if we filed with the credit reporting agencies. Clearly he had no intentions of paying for the work he requested. He is continues to denies his obligations. He has used the internet as a means to disrupt SRO, Inc. business with his falsehoods and now posting derogatory acquisitions against SRO2 Inc. SRO, Inc. is a strong community and former Vice President of the Maryland Retailers Association and now a successful small woman owed business. Mr. ****** is trying his best to avoid his own obligation to make payment on his final invoice. As a professional he claims to be, he should be ashamed over his actions. Final Invoice attached. His verbal abuse on the internet I cannot stop, however clearly avoiding is financial obligation to SRO2 and his continues public verbally abusive against SRO2, Inc. I have not had any verbal communications with this individual since he refuses to pay his financial obligation. SRO2 will pursue to collect the debt owed, utilizing the freedom of choosing any means within the letter of the law to collect this debt. Consumer Response /* (4200, 23, 2021/11/26) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I do not accept SRO2's explanation for why she is engaging a collection agency based while not addressing why I am being charged for work not completed. I encourage Ms. W. to stop making this personal and just logically review all the documentation and evidence. If she is able to provide proof/evidence that they actually did complete the 5 items listed below her own message from Thursday, September 16, 2021, I will gladly pay the full invoice. Short of that, I demand she stop harassing me and call off the collection agencies she has engaged. Thursday, September 16, 2021 7:36pm - Message received via ThumbTack from ***** *********** in response to review. "Thank you for your raving review, however at the end of the day you still owe $1073.00. Your review will be buried and the credit bureaus will be notified of your outstanding debt. Just pay your bill that you approved each item on it and the painters and staff are will to write, confirm and testify. It's also in your Thumbtack Additional Details what you wanted done: We bought a 3 bedroom / 2 bath condo and need a lot of odds and ends repairs to be done. Here is a quick list: All - Replace Light Switches with updated/modern ones All - Replace Electrical Sockets with updated/modern ones All - Closet Doors not staying on track Patio - Repaint Ceiling and Walls, Replace Door Moulding because it is rotted, Caulking around sliding door Living Room - Replace 3 big mirrors, Fix and repaint walls with Light Blue Kitchen - Repaint window ledge, Drawer under oven not staying on track, Kitchen Replace cracked tile, Replace ceiling light with a modern one Dining - Replace chandalier with a modern one, Replace chipped tile Master Bathroom - Replace Vanity Mirror, Replace Shower light/fan, Toilet seat loose, Handle on the cabinet under the sink is loose, Caulking around tub, Sink faucet leaks Guest Bathroom - Sink faucet leaks, Replace Vanity Mirror, Replace Shower light/fan, Stopper in tub and sink broken" Specifically, here are the 5 items that were only partially completed or not done at all. All the photos and evidence are included in the BBB complaint. 1. Electrical sockets not replaced. Face plates were changes but 3 of those were missed too. (see attached photo) 2. Closet doors not fixed. (see attached photo) 3. Exterior door moulding not fixed because SRO2 said they aren't allowed to do that 4. Mirrors were removed (see photo) but new mirrors not installed. I had to remove the glue myself over 2 days and fix the wood before I contracted Charles Brown Glass Company to finish the job. (see invoice attached) 5. Chipped tiles not repaired/replaced because it was too hard Business Response /* (4000, 25, 2021/12/01) */ 1, Replaced all faceplates not receptacles - we are electricians 2. We were not hired to fix closet doors - and no where in writing was there a request. 3. We were not hired to fix exterior molding - and no where in writing was there a request. 4. Mirrors were removed for painting behind were not contracted to rehang new mirrors. No where in writing was there a request. 5. We are not hired to remove chipped tile or replace. We are not a tile company and we do not do tile work. Consumer Response /* (4200, 29, 2021/12/06) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Those 5 items were directly from the scope *SRO2 sent me* on Thursday, September 16th, 2021 that map back to the after clarifications on November 9th, 2020. As to SRO2's claim that I did not state or indicate that I would be paying a different amount, that is categorically incorrect. As SRO2 may remember, there were many communications on 11/20/2021 and 11/21/2021 (see attached) and prior that contradict SRO2's statement. Based on my communications on 11/20/2021, I proposed Ms. W. a compromise of an additional $1300 to end this dispute, I would pay it immediately, which I did. If SRO2 has evidence to the contrary, please provide it to the BBB. Short of that, I demand SRO2 call off it's collection agencies and cease and desist all further attempts to get more money out of me for work not or incorrectly performed. Business Response /* (4000, 31, 2021/12/09) */ SRO2 Handyman Services will not call off the demand for payment PERIOD. We will continue to pursue every opportunity within the letter of the law to collect a bad debt from ***** ****** ******@gmail.com XXX-XXX-XXXX. It is no concern to SRO2 where he works or how he earns a living. The only concern SRO2 Handyman Services is receiving payment in full for all services billed. The invoice attached clearly indicates what Work was requested by Mr. ****** and what he has paid to date. Mr. ****** seems to more concerned about his credit report and not his financial obligation. This case will be handed over to our lawyer on January 3rd to file court proceeding collection. Our staff who worked on this project will be requested to attend hearing
