On 1/13/22 I paid maternity partners $75 as an "upgrade fee" for a breast pump. After not receiving it for weeks I reach out and they stated that they'd ordered it through a DME and would get me a tracking number. After weeks of waiting and following up with no response, they finally overnighted me a "new" one which arrive two days later mid March. A few weeks later I received a bill for the full price of the pump, no claim was every made with my insurance company (who covers breast pumps) and no upgrade fee payment was ever made on my account by maternity partners, despite me giving them the money. I reached out countless times about this and they were incredibly difficult to reach. I'm now working directly with the DME, who still hasn't received my $75 upgrade fee from maternity partners. This money was paid to them on 1/13/22, it's been 5 months and they've kept it instead of paying for my pump with it as they said they would so now I'm stuck with paying the upgrade fee again directly to the DME, as well as dealing with the insurance process which maternity partners was supposed to have done on my behalf.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/07/08) */ We recognize the customer has challenges with the purchase of the breast pump through insurance. Unfortunately, the customer's insurance changed during the process after we provided the product. We have worked with the DME partner to ensure the claim has been processed with their insurance company for payment. The additional fee of $75 is clearly communicated to the customer by way of email and acknowledged by the customer. We hope to come to a resolution with her insurance company in the next 90 days. This is unfortunate so we will just refund the customer the full amount paid. Consumer Response /* (2000, 12, 2022/07/12) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) As you can see by their initial response to BBB after 3 notifications, the business is not functioning properly. Additionally, I had no issue with the $75, the issue was that the $75 was to be paid to the DME company on my behalf for the breast pump, and I was told multiple times by the DME company that no such payment had ever been made on my behalf. Additionally, my insurance didn't change until 3 weeks after I placed my order, however, Maternity Partners didn't place the order with the DME until 3 months after I placed my order through them which is the only reason that my change in insurance matters. I did receive the refund and am glad to be done with this "company" for good.
