Good Day to you reader. It is with much displeasure that I find Myself here today on your site. First I want to thank you for BBB, as a consumer, BBB makes a fair and even balance between consumers and businesses...and for this Am I very grateful. In the summer of 2021 I went to a convention in ATL, I bought some souvenir...one of which was a pair of moon stone earrings, that matches My moonstone ring that was given to Me by a very important client...an former American Ambassador to *****. I brought the earrings to "Silver Spring Jewelry", because the wiring hosting to stones, were not sterling silver, which can cause My skin to break out. The cost to put the moonstones into a sterling silver piece of thin wire was $100+, way more than I paid for the stones that were on sale because I caught the tail end of the market days, before the vendors pack up and left town. The material that the stone where replaced into, where chosen by the ****** The work was sloppily done and I brought it back once, the staff there told Me to maneuver/manipulate it to get it to close and not fall out of the pierced hole in My ears. I did not argue but left and tried My very best to ensure its safety, by making sure that it was locked properly, each time I wore it, it cost Me extra time to secure it, I surely was frustrated each time, I wore them. I had these earring redone in october, which is only a few months after returning from vacation in ATL. Less than a month later, one of My moon stone souvenir was gone, it fell off and got lost. I called in and was told to come in and speak with the manager. When I did, I was told by ***** who is a manager "Sorry, it was My Fault, that I got it caught on something and that they gave Me a perfectly done job". I told her that if the job was done "perfectly", as she put it, I would not be there in less than 2 months with a complaint. I told her how much I paid and the time frame the work was done, she told Me it was My fault...I want a refund.

      Business response

      01/20/2023

On behalf of Silver Spring Jewelry, kindly accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience that this may have caused the customer. Unfortunately, we can not be held responsible for the customer losing her moonstone. The customer came in very hostile, demanding a refund. After examining the earrings, it was clear that the earring had been caught on something or involved in an accident that caused the stone to fall out. I explained this repeatedly to the customer, but she did not want to accept that the stone fell out because of the damage to the setting, not the work we did.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: This business have lied to both Myself as a Customer and the BBB. I wasn't hostile, this isn't My Character. I did get a bit upset towards the ending of the nonsensical lies and stories this Manager was trying to sell Me. I never demanded any refund as I only went to seek any form of solutions the business could offer. The earring didn't get caught on anything...as assumed by Manager. I have attached a picture of the outfit I was wearing the day the earring detached its due to poor work being done. And another lie that was being sold was that the way the job was done was the only way. The business once again stated that I the customer didn't want to accept that the stone fell out because of the damage to the setting, not the work they did...this also is a lie that can be proven by the earring itself. Thank you  BBB for your time and platform.

      Regards,
