On 4/22/2022 at 1a, my truck was towed from the ****** on **** **** **** in Oxon Hill, Maryland. M and N Towing was the company contacted to tow my truck, which signs with their information are not posted and I had to find out where my truck was on the ****** ******** County Government website. The site clearly states that the initial fee is $175 and AFTER 18 hours of the impoundment, the company has the right to charge $50 a day for storage. I picked up my truck at 3p on 4/25/22 leaving me to believe based on the **CG site that the total fee should be: 7p 4/22 - 7p 4/23 - $50 7p 4/23 - 7p 4/24 - $50 (Even though I tried to pick the truck up on 4/24 but M and N closed at 3p. 7p 4/24 - 3p 4/25 Since it did not sit for 24 hours on 4/25, the fee should have been $275. The man who works there handed me a bill for $375. I tried to reason with him and show him what the **CG website said about when the fees can begin. He would not listen to what I was asking to look at. All he kept repeating is "if you want your truck back it's $375. This is a private company and they charge more than the police." I tried to show him that wasn't true. The police charge $215 fee for the tow then the $50 a day and private companies is $175. He responded, "I don't care what it said. If you want your truck back it's $375." Once I knew he was not budging I was going to have to take this matter to Civil Court. What's worse, my windshield was severely cracked across from passenger to driver side. It was not like that when it was towed and there is no record on the back of the receipt where damage is documented before the tow. The proof is they did not provide any documentation that showed any damage to the windshield prior to the tow. Again, I am filing a civil suit against M and N for basically extortion because they charged me for 4 days and not the 2 which was accurate according to the PGCG site. I am also filing for damages to my windshield.
