I had the worst experience here on 10/24/2023. I was lied to and fleeced. I took my car up to Cottman's for an oil change and light bulb replacement for my rear break light. I have had my break lights replaced here before without any issues by a short Hispanic guy. When I arrived and prior to, nothing was hanging off my car, or out of place, no parts were loose. My dad and I inspected my car before I brought it in to determine which light needed replacing. So when the job is finished and the counter guy is explaining to me what was done, he starts telling me the chrome around the break light was hanging off when I brought it in, which was a flat out lie. He said that the chrome doesn't have to be removed to change the break light, which I already know and stated as much, but he talking to me like I did it or knew who did. I take excellent care of my car and would have noticed if something was hanging off it as it is parked in my garage day and night. The mechanic, a tall black guy, who worked on my vehicle on 10/24/2023, damaged that chrome. He kept glancing my way in a sheepish, suspect, weird manner when I stepped inside to pay the bill because he knew what he did to my car. The oil change was $69 plus tax. Cottman's charged me for their mechanics damage and repair to the chrome around my light at $148.23 and I ended up paying $243.62. Furthermore if something extra is found wrong with someone's vehicle, the owner of the vehicle is usually informed and then asked if they'd like the extra repair work done, before a shop goes ahead and does it. None of this was done for me, as I was sitting right in the waiting room for 2 1/2 hours waiting for my car and could have easily been asked about the issue beforehand. This further lends credence to the fact that these people damaged my car, then lied about it and charged me a half done repair, as the chrome piece was not flush as it was before I brought my car to this shop.
