      Took my car for its first service, Service A as Mercedes owners know, to Mercedes Specialists. I ended up here for three reasons - great reviews and star ratings, their detailed web page, and the fact that my Mercedes service shop let me down for the third time, claiming I wasn't there on the right day. (I was.) I called Mercedes Specialists, asked when was the soonest I could get in for a service, and they surprised me by being able to take my appointment that afternoon. That never happens! Terrific service from Sheila at the front desk, good discussion with the team, and they were enthused because this was the first time they'd had a new CLS450 in the shop. They talked about the engine, its differences from other recent Mercedes engines, and so on. They shared the expected service intervals for every service through 120,000 miles, and made two additional recommendations based on seeing a lot of older Mercedes with neglected service. The real kicker? Service A for $195 as a first time customer, but would have been only $215 otherwise compared to the $579 my dealer wanted to do the service, but couldn't provide, even though I'd scheduled a week ahead. I know where I'm going from now on. And based on the other cars at the shop, a lot of people seem to trust them.

      Not very transparent on business practices. It is my own fault. I authorized 5K of work including suspension repairs, and a few weeks later another component in my suspension went out. I think the first 5k of work was of good quality and was done pretty quickly. The invoice doesn't have much detail on part cost at all. So when I was quoted the price of two shocks/airbags to replace one I knew something was fishy. I am not putting a bad review out there because the work was bad, but I just don't have a good feeling about how much they mark up parts. I know you have a business to run but there's a thin line between survival and greed. The Auto Mechanic to Customer bond is supposed to be one of the most sacred relationships out there. Sad when a few bucks is what stops that from growing. Sincerely the guy who came 120 miles to go to your shop.
