On October 23, 2020, I entered an agreement with Arocon Roofing to do a complete roof replacement for $11,119.54. Initially, I financed $9000.00 with Synchrony Bank. On December 3. 2020, the roofing company started the job and informed me that all of the plywood needed to be replaced because it was rotted. The office called and quoted an additional cost of $4455.00 to replace the plywood. Arocon requested a credit increase but Synchrony only approved an additional $1029.00. At approximately 9:30pm, on August 9, 2021, there was a severe rain storm and a small pinpoint size hole appeared in the ceiling and it started to leak. By 3:30am a large portion of the ceiling, drywall, including the insulation fell to the floor. On August 10, I immediately called Arocon because up until August 9th I had not experienced any issues with leaks. Arocon disputes having done any wrongdoing. Account/Invoice # ******--- I'm umable to upload all pictures at this time but will send later. Thanks youBusiness response

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2021/10/22) */ ***Document Attached*** AROCON went out for a service and determined that the leak the homeowner experienced was not due to the roof install. It was determined by our service team that the leak was actually due to way the gutters were installed on the home. The gutter was run too close to the roof shingles allowing water to run up underneath the shingle and into the home. AROCON did not install gutters at this property, therefore we assume no liability for this leak. AROCON did provide the homeowner with an estimate to properly fix the gutters at this home. Consumer Response /* (3000, 12, 2021/11/02) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I do not accept this response because, the gutters have been on my house for over 5 years and my roof never leaked. The pictures taken May 11, 2019 and September 20, 2020 clearly shows the gutters in place and no signs of leaking. The pictures that Arocon took during the installation, clearly shows they moved the gutter and did not place it back correctly. If the gutters were not appropriately installed over 5 years ago, it would not have taken 5 years for the roof to leak. Arocon is responsible for the damage and refund of money. Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2021/11/10) */ This homeowner used to have 3-tab shingles on their roof and now they have architectural shingles, which are different than the previous shingles. AROCON's Service team went out and confirmed that the gutter on one side of the house was laying flush to the roof which allowed the water to get up underneath of the shingles and down into the house. Also, this customer does still have a balance of $1,600 which means the customer doesn't technically have a warranty with AROCON at this time. AROCON went out to the customer's house out of good faith to be sure it was not our roof install that caused this leak into the customer's house. AROCON also adjusted the gutter while out at the customer's property out of good faith. Again, per our findings the leak is due to the gutter and AROCON does not assume any liability for this damage. Consumer Response /* (4200, 21, 2021/11/23) */ I would like to reopen this complaint, if possible. Case #********: Arocon Design Build. I must have overlooked the email response because I'm just reading the response from Arocon. I am not satisfied with their response. I know for a fact that they are responsible for the damages. If they believe they are not at responsible, why haven't they contacted me to collect the balance. Please let me know what I need to do to reopen this complaint. Thanks Business Response /* (4000, 26, 2021/12/17) */ Hello, As mentioned multiple times before AROCON assumes no responsibility for these interior damages. AROCON's Service team went out to the property and did a full investigation of the roof and determined this was the gutter causing the problems. Again out of good faith AROCON made the repairs to the gutters at no additional charge to the customer. As for the final balance AROCON has sent multiple invoices to Ms. ******** for the final balance. As stated before Ms. ******** does not technically have a warranty with AROCON due to the outstanding balance on her account. AROCON should not have went out to the property that day due to the inactive warranty, however AROCON knew the damage was bad and we wanted to rule out the roof as the cause of the problem. The old shingles on this home were different than what AROCON recently installed which didn't cause a problem with the gutter. Now that the customer has a better quality shingle they lay differently on the roof which caused water to run underneath at the gutter that was laying flush with the roof. This again is not an issue with the roof, but the gutter was not installed to code originally.
