Jeremiah ******** (he now calls his company JJS Handyman Services) was hired to paint many rooms in my house. He stated on November 8th, 2023 that he would get it done by November 27th. I gave him half the money $3800 to cover supplies (which included 14 doors which he never ordered). The new floors were being installed the 28th. He did not show the first day of work Saturday,11/12, was here 2 hours Sunday 11/13 and messaged he would be here m-f 5 or 6 and stay late. He did not show Monday, was late and stayed an hour Tuesday. He was sporadic at showing up. And he had also started he would work long days on the weekend to get done. He made very slow progress and the quality was poor. I tried to discuss the quality issues and was avoided. He said numerous times we would walk through the job but he would leave without speaking with me. On 11/17 he messaged that he didn’t think he would make the deadline. He didn’t show on Saturday 11/19. He didn’t show until 1:30 on 11/20 and stayed 3 hours. 2 1/2 hours on 11/21, no show 11/22, worked 3 hours 11/23, thanksgiving 11/24. On November 25, 2022, he messaged he was not coming in and could not finish on time. I ended the job and asked for my money back. $3800-1300 (paint - which he purchased 10 gallons too much)=2500 he has paid $500 and I told him to keep $500 so he owes us $1500 still. Almost all of the work that was done I needed to pay another company to redo the job (not much was completed, not a single room was finished) I feel Jerimiah took advantage of me, a single senior citizen woman. As of today, he has done nothing to pay back the money. Thank you for your consideration.
