      Ive dealt with hammond for a few seasons and after 3 messed up errors and two being catastrophes, they have not been willing to accommodate on any level. I ****** attic trusses way prior, upon delivery they didnt order the correct ones on their end(that I originally ordered with documents) and then upon error they wanted me to pay a difference since they messed up. Once I started putting my foot down, the ******** business sales manager wrote me during conversation about mentioning if I act out then future orders will be delayed. There crooked, and the owners are terribly unpleasent. If skip was around things would be far different! ****** learned and if anyone wants to see the proof just reach out! Theres far better suppliers who actually make things right compared to hammond lumber. Big name, terrible business ethics. If your not a multi million dollar company they try to push ya out. Keep your eyes peeled!

      There was an error and we were happy to compromise. At the time of our meeting several weeks ago our compromise was acceptable. Several comments here are not the way we remember it. We care for our customers and resolving issues as they arise. We are professional and will be here as we exhibit a professional reply. 

      The original material load was delivered in November and the incorrect trusses were ordered in June. New replacement trusses delivered July 12th. 

      The core of our business is the smaller business person. Currently 3 family generations here working on the same local business model.

      On June 5 we placed, and paid for, an order for Trex decking with Hammond Lumber. The order consisted of 40 pieces of decking and 5 pieces of edging. We were told that delivery would take approximately two months and the material would be available in August. On August 13 we visited the Hammond store in ******** and place, and paid for, a second order for lumber to be used with the decking. At that time a Hammond representative informed us that the ***************************************************** and the 5 pieces of edging should arrive soon. On August 20, our contractor contacted Hammond and was informed that everything is in and arranged for delivery of the materials on August 30.Hammond made the delivery on August 30 but it contained only the lumber from our August order. None of the Trex decking from the June order was included. We inquired of Hammond why the first order had not been delivered and on September 1 a Hammond representative from the ************ store informed us that due to a clerical error our order had never been placed with the manufacturer and we would have to wait another 2 months before the materials arrived.Firstly, Hammond charged us for the full order on June 5 and provided nothing in return until we complained on September 1. The funds we used came from an investment account so while the company held our money, interest free, we lost approximately 7% as measured by the increase in the S&P 500 stock index during that period.Second, it is difficult to believe that the company failed to place the order with the manufacturer since we made multiple inquiries about the status of the order and were told its not in yet. If Hammond representatives were actually researching the order when we asked, how is it that no one noticed an order was never placed with the manufacturer?Third, how is it that the materials that were told on two occasions were in suddenly disappeared when it came time to deliver them?Lastly, everyone, including Hammond and our contractor, agreed that none of the materials from the two orders would be delivered until everything was ready. Why would Hammond then schedule delivery knowing that half of the order was not available?After waiting 3 months for this order to be delivered we have now been told that we must re-order and wait approximately 2 more months for delivery.
