I sent *********************, the owner of seven Oaks labradors a deposit of $500 for a chocolate lab puppy. I did not sign any paperwork and we just exchanged emails. She cashed the check in about 10 days later. I found out that my husband lost his job so I notified her we would not be able to move forward with the puppy. She did not respond to my messages so I emailed her again and asked her if she received my message. When she finally responded, all she did was respond one or two Sentences I asked her if she would be so kind to return a portion of the $500 deposit and she didnt respond again so I emailed her one last time and said embarrassed to ask, but would she consider it?She came back an said look its not personalTo which I responded yes, it is because its embarrassing For me to have to to ask. After that email exchange, I spoke with my husband and he did not want to lose out on the 500 so we said we would move forward with the puppy. We were scheduled to go up and meet the puppy the next day so I emailed her back and said that I had talked to my husband and we would figure out the finances and we would just come up and meet the puppy, the next day.She responded immediately by saying no that she would not allow me to come up and she was not going to sell me a puppy. She stated her own policy that a deposit could be moved to another litter, but she would not refund. I said thats OK because were still gonna move forward with buying the puppy and she refused to sell the puppy. She also refused to Refund the deposit. So she took my money and refuses to sell me a dog and refuses to give me my money back so we are going to have to go to small claims court.

*********************** . Wanted to purchase a puppy from me. When I asked to send a deposit she emailed 2 dys later and said they didnt want the puppy it wasnt a good time. 3 days later emailed me and asked if the puppy was available and that she decided she would take it She INSISTED on sending the deposit overnight and I said it wasnt necessary that she could just mail a check I got the deposit from the the next day in the meantime any inquiries that I was getting about the puppy I said to the families I didnt have a puppy and directed them to another breeder . 1 week later I get an email from *********************** starting that they cant take the puppy as her husband lost his job and they would only have her income and that they couldnt afford to get a puppy in that email she stated that she KNEW THE DEPOSIT WAS NONREFUNDABLE but did ask If I would consider the refund. Because I didnt answer her email immediately she sent more emails about why I was ignoring her and she DEMANDED to know about the refund. I told her that I would not be able to refund it as I lost 3 opportunities with other families .. and then she continued to insist that I owed her the refund. After talking with my lawyer with different options I decided to refund her money I emailed her today and told her I would mail it out this Friday June 7th Ive not had any response from her .

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and although her facts are incorrect, she did refund my deposit.

For the record, I did not insist that she refund the deposit until she said she refused to sell me a dog.

I have determined that the refund does satisfy my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint #********. I understand that by choosing to accept the business response that my complaint will be closed as resolved.

I would caution others in doing business with her because she seems unhinged.

      Regards,
