      02/29/2022-signed agreement with Stevens Siding for a full house siding job.Paid deposit of $7300.00. Start date would be September.09/14/22-we called and were told it would probably be mid-November before the job would begin In mid-November, **** was asked to cover a hole in the side of the house. He did come and indicated he'd be back the following week. He did not.11/28/2022-**** returned a call to us that we had made to him the prior week. We wished to cancel the job and have our $7300.00 returned. He said he did not have the money. He had spent it. He did offer to fix the hole, but we declined as it had already been done.12/1/2022-A letter was sent requesting our money returned.12/18/2022-We have received no response.I would like to add that I am in my late 60's and my husband in his early 80's. We are on a fixed income. $7300.00 is a large loss which we will not recoup.

      I own a summer house at *********************************************** in ********, *****. I hired Stevens Siding & Window Co. Inc. to build a new deck on my house. The owner of Stevens Siding & Window Co. Inc., **** **********************, and I signed a contract on March 11, 2020 with Stevens Siding & Window ********* agreeing to build a pressure treated framed deck for $3,200.00. As part of the signing of the contract, I was required to make a $1,000.00 deposit. Due to the ******19 pandemic, the installation of the deck was delayed. Then, as a result of the ******19 pandemic, Stevens Siding & Window Co. Inc. ran into issues with being able to purchase the materials for the deck. With the ******19 pandemic subsiding in early 2022, I reached out to Jake ********************** to get a timeframe on when the deck could be built. He told me that Stevens Siding & Window Co. Inc. would be out in early Spring 2022, and then that time came and no deck was built. **** then said they would come out in the Summer of 2022 and still no deck was built, Stevens Siding & Window Co. Inc. then went silent on returning calls, texts and emails to me. On September 30, 2022 I sent an email to **** ********************** of Stevens Siding & Window Co. Inc. to cancel the contract and request that our $1,000.00 deposit be returned to us via a certified check. **** ********************** responded 8 minutes after I sent that email, stating: "Sorry it took me so long trying to get it done for you. I know you shouldn't had been put into a situation like this and I understand you want to cancel. I will mail out a check for your deposit." As of November 18, 2022, we have not received our $1,000.00 deposit back. Since September 30, 2022, I have talked to **** ********************** and he said he would mail the check, I have talked to his administrative person who also said the check would be mailed. At this point, I am very frustrated that they continue to hold onto my money that I rightfully deserve back, and so I am filing this complaint. Thank you. *******************

      Good morning,

      I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint.  I have not spoken with Stevens Siding & Windows since submitting this complaint to BBB, and I have not received the $1,000 deposit back.  I can tell you that I have never had any response when sending any email communications to Stevens Siding & Windows.  They just won't respond, with the exception of when I cancelled the contract with them and asked from my $1,000 deposit back.  If BBB can call Stevens Siding & Windows, you may be able to get hold of the owner, **** Stevens, and speak with him directly.  Stevens Siding & Windows phone number is ************.  If there is any other information you need from me, please let me know.

      We ordered windows from Stevens Siding and Windows ******** on March 7th, 2022. We have been provided multiple excuses over the last 8 months as to why Stevens Siding and Window ******** were not able to install the windows on each promised date.. We requested our deposit back. He told us he did not have the money and that the order was never placed with the manufacture. **** Stevens stated he was not able to refund the $11,500.00 deposit we made as he had spent the funds.We have hired a lawyer in an attempt to get our deposit back. He did not responded to the request for a refund from the lawyer as of 10/12/2022. An additional certified letter was sent to Stevens Siding and Windows requesting payment on or before 11/04/2022. There has been no response from Stevens Siding and Windows.. Our next recourse of action is to file a case in the civil courts to retrieve our money. This has to this point cost us $1,000.00 in legal fees with an expected additional $2,500.00 it will cost to file a civil complaint.. We plan to *** for any additional costs we incur due the the dishonest business practices of Stevens Siding and Windows *** of ******, *****
