There certainly is a pattern here from Wood Construction between our experience and the complaint from the 92 year old from ******** that Wood Construction, under the direction of Mr. ************************ was left with an unusable bathroom. We too are elders. We too were left with an entire second floor uninhabitable. We too were left for weeks on end with no show, no progress of any kind. We too were presented with a bill in excess of our original $10K estimate of $18K which we paid believing that the work would progress. Instead as soon as ************ cashed our check, he informed us that although he bid the electrical and plumbing, he was not a licensed electrician nor plumber and had no intention of completing our project. HIS plan for us after paying almost $30,000 was that we find people to finish our project. That was it. He was done. The pictures show the condition of our second floor when ************ walked out on us. He has a horrible work ethic and does shoddy work. He left our project with SEVEN leaks where the dormer addition roof met the existing roof. The siding he installed was falling off and poorly attached, leaving gaps for water to leak into our house. ************ did not have the decency to answer the complaint we filed against him with the Attorney General of *****. We found ************ to be deceitful and incompetent. Prior to hiring Wood Construction we asked for references from people in town that we trusted. We were told that ************ is a Minister at a ********* Facility where he preaches every Sunday. We truly believed he was a man of honor and could be trusted. The following pictures show how Wood Construction left us. Disgraceful!!! Shameful!!! You be the judge...

This complaint is based on the siding of the dormer ************ constructed. He put the siding on the dormer in November, 2022 . The siding is ill fitted, is warped, leaks and needs to be torn down and completely redone. We have purchased the replacement material which is $3956 and $2500 for removal of the siding and reinstallation. This project will cost $6456 to be corrected. We have contacted ************, but he no longer returns our texts and phone calls. We filed a complaint with the ************************ in ***** on 10/17/2022. ************ has ignored the request for mediation through the ************************. The ************************ suggested we file a complaint with the ***********************

WOOD'S CONSTRUCTION gave us an estimate for a bathroom extension to be done in the summer of 2022: total price was $23,669.30. However, the work was not fully completed in that summer due to delays on the part of WOOD'S CONSTRUCTION (the company would disappear for days, and then show up at our worksite from time to time). For this preliminary work, we paid the company a total of $10,000. As a result of these delays, the work was to be finished in the summer of 2023. We paid $4,000 in advance payment for the remainder the work, so by this time we had advanced $14,000 toward the total cost of the entire project as per the original estimate of $23,669.30, and we owed the company $9,669.30 ($23,669.30 - $14,000. = $9,669.30), a sum which we were quite willing to pay despite the fact that the company had not built the built-in closets nor the vanity, nor the shower, nor provided the bathroom tiles, all of which were included in the original estimate but were supplied by us.However, on Friday, July 7, 2023 WOOD'S CONSTRUCTION presented us with a bill for $17,000. When we objected, an arrangement was agreed to orally according to which the work would be completed if we paid the company an additional $13,000. We gave the owner of the company, **************************, a check for that amount on Monday July 10th which he cashed the same day and then announced to us that he would not be coming back to finish the work. The result is that we now have an unusable bathroom: there is no electricity; the plumbing has not been finished; the thermostat for radiant heating has not been installed; and there are no gutters on the bathroom extension, explicitly promised as part of the construction project. Our demands: A refund of $3,307.70 (the difference between the $13,000 billed on July 7, 2023 and the $9,669.30 that we owed). ************************** deliberately deceived us, pressuring us to pay him the $13,000 compromise amount when he had, in fact, no intention of finishing the job.

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint.. ************************** deliberately deceived me, pressuring me to pay him the $13,000 amount to finish the job when he had, in fact, no intention of finishing the job. I am 92 years old and I believed him. I have now paid $27,000 for a bathroom that I cannot use, and that I had agreed to pay extra for on condition that the work was finished despite the fact that the original price for the job was $23,669.30.
