Richard was helpful, compassionate, clear, affirming and extremely supportive.I changed credit unions in Oct 2023 and failed completely in my follow-up tasks like contacting my income sources to change routing and account numbers; notify my creditors of my credit union change and give them the new numbers. Before Oct 2023 I had been grieving my husband, *****'s, *********** Disease which hospitalized him on July 14, 2022.He died suddenly on Nov 26, 2023 and I fell into a profound, paralyzing grief. I curled up in a ball and stayed like that for 2 months. My 53 yr old son, who has autism, took care of me but ultimately I was hospitalized in a psych unit because I'm 72 yrs old and wasn't able to care for myself.When I was released from the hospital 5 days later I chose to stay in the unit for 2 additional days.When I got home I had to face the fact that I hadn't paid a bill or received any income for 3+ months nor had I notified anyone about my bank change. I had tried to rectify my situation while in the hospital but I couldn't use my phone or the unit's phone (for more than 10 minutes because I shared it with 30 other patients.I don't remember whether I called Richard or he called me but he listened to my story and agreed to help me and did so while I was on the phone. His empathy and compassion were comforting and he acknowledged my grief and my inability to function even before my husband's death.I knew my husband, ***** for most of our lives but we didn't fall in love until we were 37 and 38. And when we fell, we fell hard and intensely. When I told Richard about ***** and my relationship, hiss words were genuine and beautiful. I am a retired licensed clinical psychologist and university professor and I supervised hundreds of therapists-in-training. Richard's genuine empathy allowed me to push on with my life and take care of myself again.He is the best of the best...which was what my husband was.
