On February 7th, 2022 I ordered an acai bowl from the menu and I asked what was in the bowl. They told me “everything you see on the photo” No where on the menu did it state they use a Herbalife powder which contains very harmful ingredients including highly processed soy-based protein, fructose (sugar) or artificial sweeteners, herbs, gums, fillers, additives, artificial flavors, artificial dyes, synthetic vitamins, inflammatory oils and emulsifiers. I saw the woman load up my acai bowl with this Herbalife powder and told her I could not consume the powder and no where did it state on the menu they use these harmful powders. Her son who is the other owner came out and told me “it would be just ice if we didn’t put the powders in”. He also told me he “couldn’t read the label ingredients” and handed my the bottle of the powder which again I read all of the harmful ingredients that were in the mixture. I have been studying nutrition for a long time and standard acai bowls are not supposed to contain any type of powder (unless its listed as an add on and you ask for it). They told me to “give it to a friend” and I said I will not so they told me they would give me 50% of the cost of the product because they “used the ingredients” which they only blended the protein, ice and whatever “acai” they used. They did not put the toppings on. Also after I told the woman I couldn’t consume a certain oil that was in the powder, she proceeded to scoop out Jif Peanut butter which is loaded with the same harmful hydrogenated oils I told her I couldn’t have. This behavior and lack of knowledge is extremely harmful especially for people with dietary restrictions. Having the word “nutrition” in their name is misleading on its own. This is the most unprofessional misleading business I have ever step foot in and harmful in so many ways. I want the other half of my money back as I refuse to support a business of this nature. I never walked away with any physical product that I paid for.
