In October of 2022, I contacted Harbisons Plumbing and Heating to repair a faulty mini-split heat pump which they installed at ************** in *******, ***** in 2015. The heat pump had exceeded its 7 year manufacturer warranty. Harbisons diagnosed the problem and ordered several parts, some of which were on back ordered until January 2023. Harbisons installed those parts along with a surge protector. The unit was operational for 4 hours and failed again. The unit was subsequently disposed of and replaced at my expense by another vendor.I received an invoice on March 9, 2023 (dated for Jan 20, 2023) in the amount of $1,756.37. $1,118.87 of the invoice was billed for parts, the remainder labor. I am disputing the cost of parts as I believe the issue was misdiagnosed, causing the parts to fail within 4 hours of installation. Additionally, a surge protection device was installed. Product warranty for surge protectors typically covers electrical components/parts failure when professionally installed and properly registered.Customer response
