On July 12, 2023 Hughes Brothers delivered a load of reclaimed asphalt to my house for $475. I directed them via phone to back down the driveway (which was marked with cones), and to dump the load where I placed cones and flagging on a nearby telephone pole (about halfway). I was notified by phone that the load was on it's way. I was not at my house so I drove home, even though directions had already been given. When I arrived home, I observed the truck was parked on the pavement near my house. The driver went 360 feet beyond the marked location and 63 feet onto my pavement. I directed the driver where to put the load. After he left, I noticed that there were significant depressions on my pavement from the truck and cracks. It was about 89 degrees at the time of delivery. I called the company and spoke with the person who took the order. He placed blame back on me and there was no resolution. (I have noted what was said during this conversation). *************************** then called me from the company and suggested that the ruts could have been made by *** or an oil truck. He told me that he asked the driver about the incident and the driver denied being on my pavement. There was no resolution after this conversation and I forwarded photographs to an email address provided to my by ****. He said that he would tell the owner, but said the owner would most likely tell me the same thing he had, which was that Hughes Brothers was not responsible for any damage off the main road. ****, like the person I spoke with before, did not take responsibility for his driver's actions, citing that pavement should not respond they way I described it it. To this date, I have not heard back from the company.The bottom line is that the driver of the truck failed to follow directions and my paved driveway now has grooves in it. I am waiting on an estimate to repair. If nothing else, the life of my pavement has severely decreased. They were dismissive of my complaint.
