In Feb 2024, I paid collector value of $1,477 for a M74 Swedish Mauser carbine. It was said to "apparently have matching serial numbers on all its parts." When I received the carbine I discovered it did not have a serial number on the locking bolt, a major component. Rather, it had an unserialized locking bolt. This makes it a "wall hanger" rather than a collectible arm. As such, it is worth about $750.I talked to the manager of Good Life Guns but was unable to come to a resolution.I would be satisfied with a partial refund of $500 to $750 and I would keep the carbine. The Good Life Guns business has complete records of this transaction.

The item in question was an auction listing on Gunbroker.com dated 2/20/2024, # ********. *********************** was the winning high bidder of 4 different bidders. The listing specifically stated the item was listed to the best of our knowledge and if you had any questions to contact us before placing a bid. He did not contact us, and he did win the high bid. He paid for this item through Gunbroker.com. The listing also stated there is a 3 day inspection period. The item was delivered on 2/26/2024. *********************** contacted Good Life Guns on 4/19/2024, with questions regarding his item. This is 2 months past the inspection period. We stated we sell items on consignment for people, and we gave him the name of the original owner of the item and if he had any questions, he would need to contact him. We gave *********************** the name of the original owner of the item and the phone number to contact him. We then received another phone call from *********************** a month after that on 5/16/2024 threatening our company with negative feedback towards our business if we did not give him a partial refund. He stated he felt that he paid too much money for this item. He stated the original owner would not refund him partial payment because the item was listed properly on the auction, and it was 2 months past the inspection period for refund or return. *********************** has been reported to Gunbroker.com also for threatening negative feedback. Good Life Guns did not receive payment for this item as it was a Consignment item. We have the original consignment paperwork stating the payment of this item was transferred to the original owner and if *********************** wanted compensation or refunds for this item he would need to contact the original owner.
