Purchased an area rug on 11/29/2021 from FX Marcotte in **************, *****. Salesperson (*************************) stated the rug was wool and that she had the same rug and it wore well after several years. The rug was not wool. (if she had the rug and ever cleaned it , she would have known that). She told us the rug was in stock and delivery would be by 12/19 which was acceptable to me. I asked if there was a danger of it being delayed and told her I would be upset if I didn't get it when expected. She stated she had never had a problem with delivery times with the company she was ordering it from. We paid for the order and then she wrote on the order that it would be ***** weeks for delivery. She also wrote that rugs are a final sale. So now we have paid full price for a rug and have no recourse if it shows up soiled, torn or otherwise damaged or if it never shows. up. After hearing nothing from the store about my order or pending delivery, I called them on 12/23 to ask for a status update. I was informed that the company was closed down and they would try calling in a week and a half after the 1st of next year.. This was not a special order. I was told by salesperson that rug was in stock.My complaint is that everything about this sale was deceptive. It seems the salesperson just lied about whatever it would take to make the sale. I detest dealing with any business that allows or encourages deceptive sales tactics. I would like the total purchase price $685 returned so I can purchase a rug from a reputable business.I suspect this is why this business has no presence on social media.Business response

I am following up on complaint ID ********. Customer *****************************. I have checked with everyone at both locations to see what might have happened. She purchased an area rug from us on 11/29/21. She was told at that time there would be an **** week time frame for delivery. She followed up with a call last week asking for status. We checked and it actually was shipping early and should arrive to us next week. That was the only conversation we have had with her so we are not sure what her complaint is and if she has one, she did not make us aware of it. That would be the extent of what we know. If you have something different than that I guess we are not aware.
