Between May 18, 2021 and June 10, 2022, contractor, Alley builders, LLC (SOS Charter #********DC) agreed to provide construction related services to my residential property. Prior to completion of all projects, on August 24, 2022, i was notified by text message by the owner if the company that it was now bankrupt. Current status of projects: Reshingle partial roof, completed, paid for but workmanship is unsatisfactorily as i needed to hire a second contractor to fix leaks caused by Alley build 14'x20' deck: $10,766.24, completed and paid for build 17'x10' deck: $4351.28, paid for and was verbally agreed to by Alley to finish a few remaining items Rebuild an existing balcony: $1896.90, not started nor completed. 25% deposit paid.I have attempted to work with Alley builders on solution to this situation but have yet to receive a response. Business response

      11/11/2022

There were not leaks in the roof caused by alley Builders there were existing leaks in the roof due to sky lights that the client was advised needed to be replaced or removed and he ignored reccomendations, so they continued to leak, we had constant issues with customer paying his bill to the point where we had to tell him that another project would not start until the next one was paid for, all projects except the balcony were completed. The project before the balcony was a deck, the customer was unsatisfied with the decking so a warranty was done. The customer then decided to wait to swap out the decking, in the mean time he didn't pay for the work that was done and our company had to wait for almost a year to get paid for that project, he also refuse the delivery of the warranty materials because he didn't want to help unload them causing more problems. We will decide if the client gets the deposit back as we have a contract that staes it is non refundable If we decide to refund as a courtesy the client will just have to wait. We did enough waiting on him

The end result here is that I have one project that is not complete yet fully paid for, one project that was completed and paid for but I had to pay another company to fix and one project that was not started and the contractor has still not returned the deposit for. Please advise if BBB can support a resolution. If not, I will seek an alternate  approach. Thank you
