Secured the vendor on 9/29/2020 for my 9/17/22 event. Had to cancel my event due to the loss of my father. Informed the vendor on 6/26/2021 of my circumstances/need to cancel. While the vendor was unable to refund the deposit at that time due to the contract, he offered to refund the deposit if the date was filled by another client (since I cancelled more than a year out). It's been almost 10 months, and the date is approaching, so naturally I follow up as there's been no additional communication. I reached out to **** several times via email, with no response, and finally today I receive an aggressive phone call from him. I told him I didnt want to communicate via phone as I wished to have all our communication documented due to the nature of the communication. He began raising his voice as I ended the phone call. I emailed him in response, highlighting what HE said he would do if my date was filled, along with MY follow *** (4 emails) simply asking if he filled my date. He went back on his word and said he would no longer return my deposit if/when the date is filled. NOT understanding, communicative, professional. He was dishonest and had no intentions of following up with me. My situation has been difficult enough- be aware of this experience. **** is deleting my reviews on The Knot which is unethical practice. Because of the distress caused by working with **** and his company, I am now seeking my deposit in full regardless of the date being filled by another client.
