It is 2:40PM on March 1. I left the business location at ************* ** with the expressed intention to to join the gym and said I had come to see it before today I was here to join. The man to the right* the one in charge (he said other guy was trainee, ******* later told me the one I spoke to "has been here a long time" but is not the owner) started telling me the charges for a membership. He told me the $14.99 monthly charge, and that after 45 days? there's a $45 fee I'd have to pay to keep my monthly rate from not increasing. I said do I have a choice to not pay that extra charge and take my chances with rate increases? He said no. I said it sounds like just more money for the business but I said ok and I took out my credit card. And then I asked him now you said something about 30 days, is there the ability to stop paying/coming without a fee after that? He said no I never said that. I said, you said something about 30 days, can you tell me what that was? He said I never said anything about 30 days. I said you did, and I can't give you my card unless I understand all the fees. He said I never said 30 days. I was flabbergasted. He absolutely did, just before I started to hand over my credit card. I again said I need to make sure I understand everything I am signing up for I remember something about **************************************************************************************************** got very angry and yelled at me while shooting his pointed finger towards my face and then STORMED OUT OF THE BUILDING! A woman who came in behind me saw him storm out and yell at me "I don't like your attitude". I asked the trainee about the 30 day thing and he said that when you cancel you have another 30 days to use the facility (and you will be billed for that next month.) SO THERE WAS a 30 day rule that would impact what I'd pay and access to the facility but the guy insisted he never said the words 30 days to me. The yelling and physical intimidation was scaryInitial Complaint

In May 2022, I signed up for a membership online with Workout Anytime. Two days later, I realized I had meant to get a membership at another gym with a similar name. I called and they said I was within the 7 day window to cancel and get my money back. Later, in June I believe, I noticed I had been charged for a monthly charge from them and the original charge hadnt been refunded. I called and they said they would refund the original and new charge. Today, I realized that they have now been charging me $15 a month since June, but the original charge was refunded. I have called and their answering machine says they are closed while awaiting city permits, but I drove to the gym and its open, but locked to non-members and I cant see any staff. I am confused on how my original charges were refunded but I kept on being charged, they clearly didnt cancel the membership.
