Transaction for replacement bay window in mobile home on 7-20-22 but did not receive a contract or scope of work. Three days later the company called and needed permission to take $1000 from my checking account and I agreed. I did not receive a receipt and only knew money was withdrawn by seeing it on my bank statement.They scheduled and cancelled the installation 3 times last year, once due to the fact they didn't have the main seal piece at the top of the window which they had to order. I finally got a receipt for the $1000 LAST week, and the total was going to be over $2000 plus they would not finish the inside trim.I get the impression they think of me as just a little old lady (I'm 86) but we have built 1/2 dozen homes over the years. They've offered me $384, I just want my money back and end this. They want to come out next week to install it but I don't know how much it will actually cost to find another contractor to finish out the work inside the trailer. You're help is very appreciated. Responding to complaint # ********
Portland Glass has settled this dispute like a professional and courteous business. Not only did we discount the total bill by 40% but we also preform extra services for ***************** that we specifically mentioned in the invoice would be an extra charge, for free. The customer paid her remaining balance in full and was happy with the work we preformed, even after the date this complaint was file. Customer will not be receiving a refund from Portland Glass as she agreed to pay for the remaining balance and was content with the job when completed.Customer response

I had a crack in my windshield and filed a claim with my insurance carrier to have the windshield replaced with Portland Glass located in Berlin, ** and when I picked up the vehicle after the installment, there were scratches all around the windshield on the vehicle, chip in my roof rack, 3 dents on the top of my roof above the windshield, the panels on the inside for the air bags around the windshield had deep scratches and the sealant on the outside wasn't sealed properly as water was leaking into my car. There was also broken glass all over the inside of my vehicle that I could easily cut myself or a passenger if I had one with me. There was also oil stains near the sun visors on both the driver and passenger side. I brought the vehicle back to Portland Glass as they said they would replace the internal panels which they did and and cleaned the oils stains. They have now sent me to the local collision center at ******************** which is where my car is still at being repaired for all the other damage that occurred. Portland Glass attempted to refund me the $100 for the windshield and I had to wait over a month and it never came into my account, so I had to call and ask multiple times for it. I ended up calling headquarters in ***** to Portland Glass, they called the ******, ** location and I finally got my money back. The individual from ****'s informed me that Portland had to come take the glass out so they could work on the scratches on the outside of the windshield and they broke the windshield and added more scratches to my vehicle which ****'s said they'd repair.
