      SPECTRUM HEALTHCARE PARTNERS KEEPS ON BILLING ME FOR SERVICES ALREADY PAID BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY, Cigna. There have been four bills for services rendered at ***** Medical in ********, ***** on March 9th 2023. ***** has informed ** that all of these have been paid as of April 27th 2023.

      I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. I can not  fully add all of the materials because they include personal healthcare information.  A recent letter to them has been added; the most recent contains personal medical information. I have contacted my insurance company Cigna and ***** Medical. The former has entered a grievance against the company and I have not heard from the latter. Since filling this action with the BBB, I received yet another statement from SPECTRUM and followed it up with Cigna, June 23rd. They told Cigna that there was a "routing error in Cigna's billing system." This has been similar to other response to Cigna. SPECTRUM did tell them and me that I "shout disregard the statement." 

      As part of my research into this matter I went online to see what reviews SPECTRUM HEALTH PARTNERS  have and in them there are several reports of similar behaviors, namely sending patients bills that the insurer has already paid. One was from a person who did not understand the health-insurance-provider system and paid the statement. This person did so in light of being threatened with the "over due" but illegal statement being turned over to a collection agency. The money was eventually returned. Other reviews including some by SPECTRUM HEALTH PARTNERS were by employees who complained about lack of training and support in handling these complaints.

      I am fully aware of the credibility of online evaluations but there is enough of them to be suspect that this billing patients in spite of insurance payments is part of their. system.

      I worry about this practice being employed by the firm on people who are not aware of what is taking place. Certainly, there are issues from time to time but these seem too continual to be accidental.

      Not sure what services Spectrum Healthcare provided- guessing it was from a colonoscopy I had back in January at *****************. They have NEVER sent me a bill nor did they EVER try to contact me. Received a bill from ******************* a few weeks ago, which we paid immediately and today, I received another one for $119. Again, Spectrum NEVER has sent me a bill just the bill from *******************.

      Our billing service representative reached out to the patient by phone. Patient's demographics were confirmed as correct. Billing error identified. Account was closed with collections agency and claim sent to insurer. A refund of monies paid to the patient has been issued. Patient expressed satisfaction with the resolution. No further action deemed necessary at this juncture.
