Went to visit the clinic back in July when I was up there for the holiday week. Basically, I broke my pinky. The per diem MD/PA told me it was confirmed broken after I had already left- another MD read the xray after I read it for further findings. When I left- he gave me a wrist/forearm brace and didnt say I would be charged for it. I think he just felt bad he didnt have anything smaller to give me for the actual injury. I havent used the brace (obviously b/c I didnt need it). I got a **** from the brace supplier which I was not expecting. Long story short- Ive been in touch with ************ the ***************** that makes the brace and my insurance team for the last 4 months. All my bills are paid for to urgent care. I requested (recommended by surgicare) to contact urgent care and request the MD withdraw the claim since it was given in error. I have done this and it has gotten no where. All that needs to be done is for the MD (any MD) to simply withdraw the claim and give/email something in writing which can be done in MyChart. I can then send it or fax it to surgicare and the claim is dropped and i can be reimbursed for the brace (again I didnt and couldnt use bc it wasnt for the correct injury). Its been a nightmare trying to get in touch with the right party at urgent care and Ive called ~20 times and had people send the complaint/request up to their director etc but havent gotten it resolved. Can you please help me- all that is needed is for the $150 surgicare claim to be withdrawn/dropped and for me to be notified of this. thanks!

I received the health statement from BCBS and also received the **** from Surgicare for $150. I wasnt sure what this was for and when I called they said it was for a product given to me when I was at *********** in ***** back in July (where I got Xrays for a minor avulsion fracture to my pinky). The MD handed me a wrist brace (for a pinky injury) prior to leaving the room after getting my results (which initially didnt show a fracture- it wasnt until after I left that the MD called back and said another radiologist read the xray and confirmed the ***** fracture). I felt like they had given me that just to make it seem like they were doing something for the injury and had nothing else in stock- however, it was for a body part not affected and completely unnecessary. When I was being seen, they didnt tell me I would be charged for it either which I think is shady - I wouldnt have accepted/taken it if that was the case as I havent used it and it was an inappropirate cast to give me. I called Surgicare and they told me to call *********** to request a return of the product/withrdraw request. However, I then called *********** and they told me to call Surgicare. I am disputing this charge and requested I be reimbursed the amount as it was an inappropriate product to give to me for the injury sustained. I didnt wear it and ended up making my own pinky split afterwards. I have been trying to get this resolved for a few months and been back and forth with Surgicare/*********** (billing and the main line)/ *********** I paid it today b/c it had been on hold already for 2 months and didnt want it to be late but Surgicare said theyd credit me back if the MD/billing supervisor simply withdraws the claim. That is all they need to do but it goes no where when I have the supervisor contacted.
