I bought a boat from South Port Marine 3 seasons ago. The boat was advertised to come with a 5 year Stem to ***** warranty. This past September the main instrument on the boat failed and I brought it to the ****** for repair. I was told by the service manager that they would replace the part and install as part of the warranty. If they didn't tell me it was under warranty I would not have had them do the work. In January I received a bill for the instrument and labor to install it. The service manager said ****** decided the instrument wasn't under warranty anymore, even though it was well within the 5 year stem to ***** warranty. When South Port put the new instrument in the mechanic did not install it properly either. So I had to bring it to another mechanic to fix it.As a resolution I would like South Port Marine take responsibility for the insturment they said was under warranty last September and 3 years ago when I bought the boat.
