      On 8/1/2019 I paid Victory Tax solutions $3,827.00 to help with my *** issues. I was in contact with ********************* via email and on March 2020 he advised it is best to way for the *** to contact us. The next form of contact we received from the *** was on 6/11/2020 when the *** sent letters to our employers advising they are going to garnish our wages. My husband and I tried to contact Victory Tax solutions on 6/11/2020 and never heard back. We ended up dealing with the *** ourselves to get this resolved. I want my money back as services were not completed.

      Business response

      09/01/2021

      Dear Sir/Madam;

      ******* and ******************************* signed their initial services agreement with Victory Tax Solutions ("VTS") in January of 2014.  The initial issue was an *** audit of their 2011 and 2012 tax returns.  The scope of work entailed the following; investigation and research of their entire master tax file, audit defense of the expenses that could be proven and were allowable, preparing and filing 2013 tax returns and placing all balances posted as of January of 2015 into an installment agreement.  VTS was able to place clients into a Currently Not Collectible status based on ******** job loss in February 2015.

      Clients subsequently had their 2014 through 2017 tax returns prepared and filed by a third party, incurring significant tax balances for those years as well.  One of the requirements by the *** for hardship is that taxpayers stay in compliance (file timely and pay timely) for the future tax years or they risk default on the original arrangement, which is what happened in July of 2019.  On August 4, 2019, clients contracted VTS to perform another investigation, prepare and file their 2018 tax returns, and work with the assigned *** **************r on a resolution for all years through the 2018 tax year.  Upon preparation of the 2018 and then, subsequently, 2019 tax years, taxpayers incurred an additional $100,000 of tax liability, which severely complicated the resolution process.  After a year and a half of information collection and negotiation with the ***, the hardship payment we proposed was rejected in October of 2020.  We filed an appeal and the hardship payment rejection was sustained by the *** appeals unit in February of 2021.

      Following rejection of the proposed agreement, the *** **************r mailed wage garnishments to taxpayers' last known employment without notice to taxpayers or VTS.  Based on information received, taxpayers then called the ************** on their own, waived their right to representation, and negotiated a final resolution, the terms of which have not been disclosed. VTS was not even aware of the resolution until taxpayers submitted this complaint.

      It is VTS' position that extensive work has been done on their case over the span of six years, including preparation of tax returns, submission of substantial amounts of documentation, and proposal of resolutions based on the taxpayers' wishes. VTS stood ready and willing to enter into any agreements that the taxpayers may have wished to enter following the rejection of the prior proposal.  In recognition of the circumstances and given that the final resolution was entered into by the taxpayers without VTS assistance, we remain amenable to a discussion surrounding a fair refund.

      Regards,

      The Victory Tax Solutions Team
