I signed a contract for 84 months. I am paying the last and final payment this month September 2024. But there are still two more payments due. I deferred during COVID however I kept track of every payment and counted them out on my account. I thought companies were not allowed to penalize during COVID! So this company must be charging me extra interest since they still want more money. When finally paid it will be 86 months total. I should not have two more months of payments when I am officially paying the 84 as per the contract signed.Review from Megan F

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Terrible at managing accounts and *********************. They literally tell you to figure it out essentially. We had a HUGE AUTO PAYOFF Air Mailed to them on 9/12 from a title company directly. They still have not cashed the check, and the balance is due on 9/19- Tomorrow. They told US to make a regular $1200 payment, to then REQUEST that money back. Not just automatically send it. So not only are they rude and unhelpful, but also unethical, maybe illegal. Outright stating they would KEEP our overpayment of $1200 after they do cash the payoff and that it "would be on you to contact us again to get refunded." TOTAL FRAUD.Review from Santina B

I hate dealing with Ally and would never recommend them for vehicle financing, you cant speak with anyone who understands you or you can understand. They dont take notes so every time you call they make you repeat the exact same information you told a previous **** I recently was involved in a wreck that totaled my car, it has been hell!! Trying to get them to communicate with the adjuster my car was wrecked on 9/4 deemed totaled on 09/13 and they are still trying to force me to make a payment on a car thats sitting in a salvage yard and they are continuing to report a late payment to the credit bureau although they are aware the car is totaled. They take forever!! To do anything dealing with a claim leaving me without a car for at least ************************************** to pay for one that doesnt exist anymore. I really wish this company would be investigated, I am not a racist by far! But I am pretty sure all the call centers are over seas and you can never get to a supervisor when you call! They literally refuse to escalate you and if you do get someone they will know nothing!! Please never ever ever! Finance from this company.Review from Elyse S

My vehicle was financed through Ally in 2018, and I recently paid it off in August 2024. I moved recently and changed my address online, but it would only let me update it in one spot, so I called in to change it for the other two spots that the address is listed. When I changed it, I was told that my title would be released to my current state since I updated my address before the title was issued. My title was processed and sent to a state I have not lived in in over 2 years. I moved from ** to ** in ************************************* location, then moved to ** in 2024 and changed my address again. No one can explain why my title was sent to **. I am now being told that I can take my pay-off letter and go to the PA DMV to have my title released, which I will need to take a day off to do since they are only open during my work hours. I am not sure why it is my responsibility to fix ****'s mistake when they were informed of my address change and sent it to the wrong state. I will now have to miss a day's pay to do this. If **** is not going to resend the title to PA, then they need to compensate me a day's pay since I will have to miss work to fix their mistake. I have been transferred twice and both individuals have blamed me for not updating my address, except I did twice since I lived in **. I'm now being transferred to another department and have been on hold for around 10 minutes. So happy to spend my lunch break wasting time with this incompetent company. I will be glad to be done with them once I receive my title, and I will be sure to never finance another vehicle through them in the future. Most useless customer service, the company is clearly poorly run and disorganized to send my title to a state I haven't lived in since 2022.Customer Response

Not only did they send my title to a state I have not lived in for two years, but they sent it to an address I have never lived at! When I pointed that out to the representative in the "paid in full" department, I was again blamed and said that I "must have given my address incorrectly." I know that I provided the correct address when I moved. Ally does not want to take responsibility for their incompetence and instead continue to try to blame me. I asked the representative why they could not reissue the title to the correct state since it was an electronic title. I was told that it was a paper title. When I read straight from the letter that Ally "sent" me (it was in my online messages but mailed to an address I never lived at) stating that it was an electronic title, I was told that this was incorrect. It seems like the customer service representatives are not trained well, if at all, and have no idea what they are doing.Review from Carla N

I have been speaking with ****************** since the end of February 2024 about a double payment of $535.00 that I made, I called their general customer service department it took about 2-4 months for them to send my refund, in between this time I had to keep calling them to even send out my refund, so they finally refunded the $535.00 month and months later. Well, I never received the check so I called and explained that I never received the check then they said there was nothing that they could do because they had already sent the check & the check had already been cashed, well, someone got my check and forged the check in my name so I filled out a police report and affidavit then sent it back to ******* in there us department at first she was helpful and told me to call back 4-6 weeks because there department needs to send my documents to Bank of America , that information was sent to bank of America on 8/2/24 well today is 9/16/24 and I still do not have an update with bank of America . It is like asking to speak to the president of the United States when requesting to speak with a supervisor because their customer service department will not allow you to speak with a supervisor, called today and for the first time I was able to speak to ******* a supervisor I voiced my concerns to her and she said she has to escalate my concern to her executive office now since I told her that I would be reporting them to the BBB. they should have sent to my concern to their escalation department months and months ago, again remember today is 9/16/24 I have been dealing with this since end of February and still do not have an update on my refund. Each time you call Ally, someone tells you something totally different I would never refer them to anyone. customer service is terrible and not helpful, I am glad I talked to ***** today and he transferred me straight to a supervisor when I asked and hopefully my case will get resolved. we will see.Review from simone S

Absolutely worst and illogical customer service. They do not critically think to offer solution for an issue that is caused by their system. I have an account with ally auto and no one in their customer service can seem to link the auto account to the banking account which by the way they are forcing you to do. if you forget your password, you cannot reset it like any company in 2024 but instead you have to call customer ******************** and no ones or seems to be able to help me because according to them i have a different name and cant pass the verification step, never mind that i have provided a SS#, address and every name given to me under the sun. I was on the phone for over 2hrs trying to rectify this issue when i was asked to look at a statement and provide the account number and name- well if i could get into the account i could tell you that but since all my statements are electronic, i cant provide that now, can I? what absolutely HATE about this bank is that anytime you file a dispute for a charge they shut your debit card off and send another one. No matter if you say you have your card and know the company but there was an extra charge or the amount isn't correct. I cant rely on them as a bank because every time I have an issue all my accounts I have linked to this card now require to be changed.Review from Nermai N

I made my final payment on my loan in August according to my online account which I've used for a long time then a couple weeks later there was a balance showing on my account again that said it was late fees from over 3 years ago so I paid it on time just like my car payment was 1st of September I scheduled that payment approximately 2 weeks before it was due and since that time and still today the online account says the account balance is unavailable which one would think it was because I just made the last payment however I get a text message today saying there was still time to make my payment before it's late so I call because as far as my online account shows it's paid for so after multiple calls it came down to supposedly another group of late fees and if I don't pay it it's gonna go to there collection which I absolutely don't want to happen so I ask them can I pay it on the 3rd of October my next payday and they inform me it will go to collection and I explain look if that total would have been on there I would have paid it but it's been over a week now and I live on a budget can't you help me out it's your websites fault and they tell me to download the app so they can trouble shoot why there web page isn't current which totally wasn't the point there information on there website was incorrect and fixing that now doesn't fix the problem it caused from being incorrect you would think they could have worked with me on 115 dollars for 3 weeks since it was there mistake but nope I used my grocery money to pay it so it wouldn't go to collection thanks ally a 7yr auto loan and you couldn't help me deal with your mistake for 115 in late fees after you already charged me over 200 for "late fees"Review from Darlene D

They are the worst. They got a check to pay off my loan 8/22/2024. As of 9/10/2024 they claim they have not received the check . This happened to me before with them they are a lost ball in high weeds . And thier coumester service is the worst. Right now I'm going to see about moving my loan and will never deal with them in life. I would rather walk than have a vehicle finance with them
